Now that the doors are open, we can finally show you all the finished details in their full glory.

From the refurbished multi-mixers making our iconic milkshakes to an expanded seating area ready for even more happy Goolrick’s-goers, every corner brings together the history you remember and a new chapter to enjoy.

Our new retail section features local favorites like Mary’s Cakery, Sugar and Spruce, Legacy Coffee, and more. And if you make your way to the back, you’ll find shelves filled with Goolrick’s artifacts alongside our original, beautifully refurbished pharmacy vault, pieces of history preserved right where they belong.

Goolrick’s has always been a place for memories. Now, it’s ready for a whole new generation of them.

157 years of history, and a brand new chapter.

We’re honored to see Goolrick’s featured in Washingtonian celebrating the restoration, the stories, and the traditions that have made this place part of Fredericksburg since 1869.

From the soda fountain to the smallest historic details, bringing Goolrick’s back has always been about preserving what generations loved while giving it a future.

“Since Reconstruction, growing up in Fredericksburg has meant going to Goolrick’s.”

We couldn’t have said it better.
