MEET THE MAKER: TANCREDI BIONDI SANTI OF CASTELLO DI MONTEPÒ

🍷 ~Casual wine tasting with light bites, $30/person, with bottles available for purchase at the event.~

Join us THIS WEDNESDAY 8/19 5:30-8:00PM at The Wine Kitchen LEESBURG for an intimate tasting featuring Tancredi Biondi Santi, co-winemaker of Castello di Montepò. Born in Siena and educated in Viticulture and Oenology in Florence, Tancredi grew up working in the vineyards and cellar across Montalcino and Montepò. Today, he works alongside his father, Jacopo, guiding vineyard management, cellar work, and the estate’s long-term direction. Discover the current chapter of more than 150 years of Biondi Santi winemaking history through the wines of the Tuscan Maremma—a singular family story shaped by Sangiovese, rigorous craftsmanship, and a restless spirit of innovation.

This is a casual mingling experience, not a seated event. If you would like to have dinner with us, a separate reservation is required.

• JeT Toscana Rosato IGT 2025 — An intense, fragrant rosé made from the family’s Sangiovese Grosso BBS11.
• Morellino di Scansano DOCG 2022 — A wine capturing the authentic character and heart of the Tuscan Maremma.
• Sassoalloro Toscana Rosso IGT 2024 — Castello di Montepò’s signature expression of Sangiovese Grosso BBS11.
• Sassoalloro Oro Toscana Rosso IGT 2022 — A special cuvée created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Sassoalloro.

As we approach celebrating WK Leesburg’s 18th birthday this fall, we are excited, grateful, and proud to be named as one of FSR Magazine’s Top 50 Independent Restaurants of 2026. As they say: creativity is easy, but consistency is hard. While we always aim to cook, pour, serve, and offer the warmest hospitality with gusto and our own artistic joie de vivre—our real work and mission is to offer that to every guest, day after day, wine after wine, pasta after pasta. We are grateful to be aiming high still, almost two decades in. A big cheers to our exceptional staff and dearest guests. 🥂
