With fantastic visibility and a 200 year tradition, Hagan's Tavern is ready for a new enterprise. This famous restaurant & tavern location has been home to many successful restaurants in the past and with its luster and charm returned, it is ready for a new concept.

And that new concept is Saisaki Asian Fusion. The owner, May Talabkaew is opening her first restaurant. Her family owns and operates Yatai Hibachi & Asian Fusion Food Trailer in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. They have been running the business there since 2020. Nearing their four year anniversary, they are looking forward to their new venture in Frederick.

ART ENTHUSIAST'S DELIGHT

Beautiful original murals adorn the walls of Hagan's Tavern. They depict glimpses of the styles of Moses Eaton and Rufus Porter, as well as the Zuber school of 18th century wall covering. Created by local artist Virginia Jacobs Mclaughlin, this unique display of artwork is only one of the many details that create a romantic atmosphere for guests.

It's time for Halloween in Downtown Frederick! While this event allows trick-or-treating and costumed fun, Halloween in the 1800s didn't look too different than it does today.

In the 1800s costumes were worn to fool evil spirits who came to earth on All Hollows' Eve. Pumpkins were carved with lit candles placed inside, and bobbing for apples was quite popular.

Halloween in Downtown Frederick is great for families and kids of all ages! Costumes are encouraged, though not required. Trick-or-treat at all your favorite downtown businesses (while supplies last) and stop by our paint-your-own-pumpkin station at 30 N Market St.       Ghoulish Fun! (10am-12pm)...
