After 17,050 days in business, we have arrived at our final day. It has been an honor to be a part of your lives and the Frederick community for all these years. We will cherish every smile, hug, and memory forever. The saying really rings true… how lucky are we to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

We will be closing our doors for the final time at 6 pm this evening.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the joy and love for the past 46 years. Frederick, we love you ❤️

We’ve loved getting to know all the dogs (and an occasional cat!) over their years. Thanks for sharing your sweet 4-legged friends with us. We’d love to see ALL the pictures of you with your furry friends at LP 🥰

Also, the support from the community has been nothing short of amazing. It’s been so wonderful to see so many of your faces and to get so many hugs. You all are the best ❤️

What a joy it’s been to read about all of your favorite La Paz memories. It is certainly not lost on us how meaningful your time with us has been over all these years.

One of the greatest memories we have from La Paz is perfecting the margarita recipe. Talk about a wildly fun labor of love! Thankfully we had great friends who were up for the task! Eddie and Michael Currens, Danny Lawton, Joe Downs and others…. Remember that guys? It took more than a few tries to get those proportions just right! We had no idea then how many of those bad boys we’d serve over the years!

We will be sharing some of our best memories over the next few days… Please keep sharing your memories with us too ❤️

Shew! We are certainly feeling the love. Thank you for every message, post, and hug that we have received over the past few days! We’ve read them all and are truly humbled ❤️
Also humbling is the love that you have shown the queso dip this weekend! We’ve gone through about 30 pots in the past 3 days alone! With that being said, we are SOLD OUT OF QUESO for Sunday, December 1! We will have the queso back in action on Monday! We apologize for the inconvenience!

Since April 4, 1978, La Paz has been a staple in Downtown Frederick. We’ve been a part of celebrations and gatherings of all kinds, and so many of you have become family. We’ve served the Frederick community well over a million margaritas, and have had over one thousand employees throughout the years. We are so thankful and proud to have had the opportunity to be a part of your lives for so long.

Since it was first reported that La Paz was on the market, we know that everyone has been curious about the status of the sale. We can now share that we have an official signed contract for the sale of 51 South Market Street, the home of La Paz for 18 of our 46 years, and the place where La Paz will serve its final margarita.

Our final day in business will be Sunday, December 8. A restaurant with a new concept will open in the location in 2025.

This time is certainly bitter sweet for us, but we are excited for what the future holds. The journey continues, and the best is yet to come 🌞

La Paz will be closed for lunch on Thursday, September 19 due to a scheduled power outage on the first block of South Market street 👎
