The story behind DKs Diner....
DKs Diner officially started in 2025 after spending several years converting a 1959 Mobile Scout trailer.
Many years ago I had a restaurant in Fort Walton Beach, FL called Suzannes Java Cafe (my middle name). It was a coffeehouse that I poured my heart into but lost after two hurricanes destroyed our inventory and we couldn't recover. It was always in my heart to have another Cafe without the responsibility of a brick and mortar. My husband heard my desire and wanted to fulfill it and worked tirelessly, along with a few caring, hard working men and women, converting our trailer into what it is today. We travel around the Hattiesburg area serving ice cream. It brings such joy to see the expressions of older people reminiscing of their childhood and visiting the soda fountain from their youth or just the delighted oows and ahhs the people have in seeing our creations. I have no desire to compete with other ice cream trailers or the hustle and bustle of fairs and we intentionally choose Farmers Markets or community events where we will make the most impact. DKs Diner is a dream realized and our hope is to make people happy and see tons of smiles and full stomachs.
