🍻 ANNOUNCEMENT 🍻

Black Lung Fox Lake has officially closed permanently. We will not re-open. After three years of love, support, and unforgettable nights, we want to thank the people of Fox Lake and the Village for welcoming us into the community.

Unfortunately, ongoing building‑related issues throughout our time there made it impossible for us to fully realize our vision. The Village was forced to condemn the building back in May, and although the new landlord has attempted some improvements, we can no longer operate safely or sustainably in that space. These conditions ultimately hurt our business and our ability to run it the way our team and our customers deserve.

We’ve mostly moved out and sincerely wish everyone in Fox Lake the best. You’ll still find us pouring at Fox Lake Friday Night Live at Lakeshore Park and at our Grayslake Taproom at 2 S Lake Street, Grayslake, IL.

We’re also proud to share that the chefs from Winston’s have joined the Black Lung family, and Antony now leads our Grayslake kitchen, bringing his talent and creativity to our taproom menu.

🎷 🍻 TIME FOR BIG BEER AND BIG BRASS!

We are serving up some big beers like pistachio rose and thin, mint scout Stout with a side of Mr. Willie! Those big beers go great with the big brass band that’s cranking out 14 horns in a few minutes here! Come hang out on the lakefront with Black Lung and the Fox Lake Friday Nights crew!

To our Fox Lake community,

We want to share an important update regarding our Fox Lake location. For several months, we have experienced ongoing issues with the building that have not been resolved despite repeated requests and assurances that repairs would be made. Because these issues directly affect health, safety, and our ability to operate, we have withheld rent in accordance with our rights until the required repairs are completed.

In the past week alone, the gas, power, and now water to the building have been shut off (it’s a well pump). These are building‑wide outages, not related to our accounts — our utility bills are fully paid. Unfortunately, these conditions make it impossible for us to operate a brewery safely or legally.

As a result, Black Lung Brewing Fox Lake is closed indefinitely. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this causes our customers and our community. We know many Fox Lake residents have enjoyed our establishment, and you have our full sympathy.

While Fox Lake is closed, our Round Lake Beach taproom remains open through June 12, and our Grayslake taproom is open Tuesday through Sunday every week. We would love to see you there and continue serving you the beer you know us for.

We will also be pouring at Friday Night Concerts by the Lake in Fox Lake, so please come say hello and grab a beer with us.

We will post updates as soon as we have any meaningful developments.

Sun’s out. Lake’s shining. The beer is cold. This is the Memorial Day you actually want to be at.

Today at Black Lung Fox Lake, we’re throwing the doors open 12–7 PM and turning the vibe all the way up.
Michael Lescher hits the keys at 3 PM, bringing that perfect lakeside soundtrack to a day built for good beer and good people.

Meanwhile, Winston’s has the griddle blazing — smashing out killer burgers and that legendary Shepherd’s Pie like it’s their full‑time job.
