Happy Labor Day from The Corner Store. 🇺🇸⚒️🌾

Since its beginnings, Labor Day has been a celebration of the American worker and the contributions working people make to their communities.

Here in Fountain City, that means the farmers, tradespeople, teachers, small-business owners, service workers, and countless others whose work keeps our community going.

Happy Labor Day, Fountain City.

Labor Day Weekend • September 3–6

🎶🌳 Thursday night brings Rhythms by the River to Fountain City Community Park. The Lonely Knees play from 5:30–7:30 PM, with food from Monarch Public House.

🎬🍿 Friday is the first Main Street Movie Night at The Corner Store. The Goonies starts at 7 PM for an end-of-summer adventure after hours at the soda fountain. $10 admission includes popcorn; advance tickets required.

🎸🍹 Live music lineup at The Landing Riverfront Bar & Restaurant : Bruce & Virgil Friday from 4–7 PM, Hillbilly Fever Friday from 7–10 PM, and Vertigo1 Saturday from 7–10 PM.

🌸💐 Saturday morning is U-Pick at Meadowsweet Flower Farm from 9 AM–Noon. Wander the flower fields, build your own bouquet, and browse the farm’s vintage boutique.

🌲🐍 Snake Discovery comes to Merrick State Park Saturday at 7 PM. Get an up-close look at snakes and learn more about these often misunderstood animals during this free program at the Nature Center.

🗿🌾 Sunday is one of the final chances of the year to explore inside Prairie Moon Sculpture Garden and Museum. From Noon–3 PM, discover the story of Herman Rusch and the remarkable folk-art world he created. Admission is always free for this public art site.

It’s game day in Fountain City! 🏴‍☠️🏈

Friday nights feel a little different around here when the Pirates take the field. After last year’s incredible run to the state championship game, there’s plenty of excitement for what this season could bring.

So we’re adding a little Corner Store tradition to all that Pirate Pride: Pirate Fridays!

Every Friday this season, stop in for a $5 Pirate Float, made with Cherry Coke and vanilla ice cream.

The Pirates are home tonight with kickoff at 7. Stop in on your way to the game, then head out and cheer them on!
