1. “G*T Chochajau”, Atitlan, Guatemaya
Organic Certified Community lot from the Shores of Lake Atitlan, Guatemaya.
If you have ever been to San Juan de La Laguna, Lago de Atitlán, it is likely you have passed or seen “El Faro” coffee mill, where this coffee is processed and exported.
Grupo de Amigos y Trabajo (G*T) Chochajau is comprised of 62 small holding families that produce their own fertilizers from the byproducts of their coffee production, leading the way for regenerative agriculture in the area.
2. “La Hermita Micro-Lot” Nariño, Colombia
This microlot comes from a very remote and inaccessible area of Nariño, Colombia.
It is a community lot of 28 farmers, all growing lots 3 hectares or smaller, starting at 1800 MASL (5,400+ feet above sea level).
3. “Cooperativa Norcafé - Swiss Water Decaf” Amazonas, Peru
“Formally established in 2015, the Norcafe Cooperative was created by a group of university students who were the children of smallholder coffee farmers and wanted to see the lives of coffee farmers improve. Their strategy was continuous improvements in production and quality. They started with with 100 farming families in the Amazonas highlands of northern Peru. Today, nearly 500 families growing coffee on a total of 1,200 hectares of land above 1,400 meters belong to the cooperative and several are producing award winning coffees. Almost half of the members are women.”
