This sheds light on why Genesee's time with Ben E Keith is ending and why the kegs we currently have will end its run at Our Taphouse. The other distributors know and we are hoping to be able to keep it as a cheap option if it can keep it coming to Texas. I know Nickel City down the street has it. Its an OG cheap easy drinker that hits the spot for many.

Saothair Capital Partners, a Pennsylvania-based private equity firm, purchased FIFCO USA, Genesee's parent company. It will bring back two former executives, and return to the name of North American Breweries.

Recognize this sweet pupper?! Help it find it's way back home.

This friendly black-and-white pup was found at The Cicada this past Friday night, and we’re still trying to locate their owner. Do you recognize this sweet dog?

The pup is wearing collars, and the owner will be asked to describe them to help confirm ownership. Unfortunately, there is no microchip, so we need your help spreading the word!

If you recognize this dog or know their family, please contact Jennifer at 817-233-8872 to make arrangements. Please share to help get this pup home!

The Colony was my home town growing up. It was exciting when I checked this brewery out for the first time last year. I was thinking that I wished this was here 15 years prior, back when I would be in TC often in the summers and visiting family. But The Colony has always been a weird place. TC always has tried to do things other cities dont to put their name on the map. Almost had the world's tallest building, the Maharishi. Hawaiian Falls was an odd add when I was in high school. They brought in Nebraska Furniture Mart, Scheels, and all of what has become Grandscape. There are too many of the things that dont seem to make sense based on population density; Liquor stores, smoke shops, and churches...So, I thought this might make it. I think the proximity of Windmills, Thirsty Growler, and Grrrowlers made it hard. The time I was first there it was eerily quiet during a Sunday night football game but they had a good atmosphere and I was rooting for them.

This has been a hard year for craft b**r. THIS, Texas Ale Project, Panther Island, Rogue, Southern Star.
Yes, there are changing drinking habits...but b**r is not going away. Craft b**r is not dying. The ones that continue to adapt and make good b**r are still growing. There are still taphouses like OT that like to showcase those local brews and the the other options as well.
So with the recent closings, I encourage you go check out a local brewery and get it from the source. Fort Worth still has Maple Branch, Three Wide, Cowtown, Second Rodeo, Hopfusion, Martin House, Wild Acre. Still in distribution but no taproom is the OG Rahr grab them from the local store or taps (we have their Lemon Shandy on).
Nearby us is Village Creek, False Idol, Keyworth, Turning Point, Atheneum C***r, Glen Rose Brewing, Parker County Brewing, and tons of other breweries still in DFW and probably some I forgot to mention within that bubble.
This news doesnt alarm me but it is a reminder to support your local brewery or taphouse, or small business in general when you choose to take a day or evening out.
