When my restaurant closed abruptly, I had $150 in my pocket. We had been in business for three years with a 5-star rating, but construction work nearby had limited our customers’ access, crippling our sales. Thankfully, I had experienced sudden disruptions in my life before, and I had learned to lean on the Holy Spirit to see me through.
God knew my restaurant would close. He also knew I wouldn’t have left my restaurant unless I was forced to. He had to make it obvious that it was time for me to move on to His next assignment.
Instead of having a breakdown, I immediately began to pray and ask the Lord for a breakthrough. I had rent coming up and children to take care of, but I prayed and trusted in God. I knew He wouldn’t leave me, so I asked Him what He wanted me to do.
“Lord,” I asked, “what is my next assignment? What can I do for You?”

God had an answer for me that day, and no matter what challenges you're facing now—insurmountable as they may seem—He has an answer for you too. So go ahead, cry a little on the floor of your closet (I've been there!) while you're giving your next move to God. But remember: He will make a way when there seems to be no way. He will open doors for you that no man can shut.
