I’m short a guy today, so keeping everything stocked and moving is a little more challenging than usual. I can’t promise I’ll get everything done, but I’m going to try to move some Watermelon from another location up to Robinson Chapel later today.

Trust me — we haven’t forgotten about you!

It’s definitely not because we don’t want to bring them to Illinois Road. Right now, it’s simply a matter of logistics, having enough help, and getting everything delivered to all of our locations while keeping up with the Sweetcorn. 🌽

You’ve made it pretty clear that Illinois Road wants MELONS! 🍉🍈

We’re working on it, and we’re going to see what we can do to make it happen.

I looked at our page tonight and had to look twice.

9,841 people are now following Aunt Gena’s Gourmet Sweet Corn — just 159 people away from 10,000!

When we started selling sweet corn, I certainly never imagined that someday nearly 10,000 people would be following along with us.

What started with sweet corn has become something much bigger — customers who have become friends, families who come back year after year, kids growing up eating our corn, new communities welcoming our stands, and all of you following the craziness of planting, picking, rain, mud, breakdowns, long nights and everything else that goes into getting fresh produce from the field to your table.

So I’m going to ask you for a little favor.

What we go through sometimes to get your sweet corn from the field to your table never ceases to amaze me.

Tonight we started out picking in the pouring rain. Then we hit one of the irrigation ruts, and many crates of sweet corn went crashing off the wagon. We stopped, picked every ear back up, restacked the crates, and kept going because tomorrow morning people are counting on fresh sweet corn.

It may have taken us a little extra time tonight, but that’s okay. Safety is always our first priority. No load of sweet corn is worth someone getting hurt, and we’ll always choose to slow down rather than take unnecessary risks.

Thankfully, we didn’t have to do what a good friend of mine once had to… pull the picking tractor out of the mud with a big four-wheel-drive tractor! 😄

As the rain finally moved out, we were rewarded with one incredible sunset over the field. It was a beautiful reminder that even after the toughest moments, there’s often something beautiful waiting on the other side.

A huge thank you to my incredible crew, and especially to our crew leader, Adam, for doing an outstanding job tonight. They worked through the rain, the mud, the spilled crates, and the long hours without complaining. Their positive attitudes, determination, and teamwork are the reason we’re able to bring you the freshest, highest-quality Aunt Gena’s Gourmet Sweetcorn every day. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people.

To all of you who support our family farm, thank you. Every ear of Aunt Gena’s Gourmet Sweetcorn represents a lot more than just corn. It represents hard work, perseverance, teamwork, and a commitment to bringing you the very best we can.

Fresh corn isn’t made in a factory… it’s earned one ear at a time. 🌽❤️

I hope the next time you bite into one of our ears of Aunt Gena’s Gourmet Sweetcorn, you’ll know a little of the story behind how it got from our field to your family’s table. We think it’s worth every muddy boot, every rain shower, every extra minute, and every ounce of effort.
