When nonprofits serve alongside one another, something really special happens. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Corporation and their Forward Operating Base (F.O.B.) here in Fort Wayne.

F.O.B. provides a safe, substance-free, veteran-led space where veterans and their families can find peer recovery support, wellness and fitness programs, workplace development, resource navigation, and so much more. Their mission to walk alongside veterans as they navigate life after military service is one we are honored to support.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of providing thousands of meals to support their Tuesday night mission of feeding our homeless veterans and other neighbors experiencing food insecurity in downtown Fort Wayne.

And now, they’ve turned around and paid it forward to us.

After receiving a gift of their own, the team at OneK9 generously chose to share a portion of that gift with Out of a Jam so we can continue preparing and providing meals throughout our community. This is something that we have always loved about Fort Wayne, the willingness to collaborate for a bigger impact.

Thank you, OneK9, for trusting us to be part of your mission and for choosing to pour back into ours. We love serving alongside you and look forward to many more Tuesday nights spent feeding, nourishing, and caring for our wonderful neighbors.

Did you know that feeding our community starts long before a meal reaches the table? 🍽️

A huge thank you to for a generous grant we received! Your investment helps support the people, resources, and behind-the-scenes work that make it possible for us to feed, nourish, and transform lives right here in Fort Wayne. 💙

From our staff forming new partnerships to tracking down ingredients, to coordinating volunteers, preparing our kitchen, and finally cooking and packing the meals, there are so many steps that happen before a meal ever reaches a neighbor.

We couldn’t do this work without generous partners who believe in what’s happening here at Out of a Jam. We’re incredibly grateful for this foundation's investment and for the opportunity to keep serving our community together!

We are incredibly grateful to the for investing in Out of a Jam and our Feeding Fort Wayne Kids program! 💚

This generous grant and support allows us to continue and expand hands-on cooking, nutrition, wellness, and life-skills education for youth in our community. Through these opportunities, students build practical skills, confidence, and healthy habits — while being encouraged to see what they are capable of. We are hoping to reach more than 300 new youth through this incredible gift.

Indiana Youth Institute’s mission is to improve the lives of all Indiana children by strengthening and connecting the people, organizations, and communities focused on kids and youth. We are so thankful to be one of the organizations they are investing in through the Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana (SYPI), which is an initiative of Lilly Endowment Inc.

Thank you, IYI, for helping us continue to feed, nourish, and transform lives. We’re so excited for what’s ahead! 💚

GUYS… TOMORROW IS A HOLIDAY. 🎉😂

And not just any holiday… it’s the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste! 🌎🍎

First proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2019, this day is all about bringing awareness to the massive amount of food that gets wasted around the world.

What better way for us to celebrate than by putting that rescued food to work?! 🙌

Come hang out with us in the kitchen tomorrow evening from 5:30–7:00 PM! We have SO. MANY. MEALS. to package, and we could use some extra hands. 💪🍽️

Come by yourself. Bring your family. Grab a friend. Bring your small group. Basically, if you have hands… we have a job for them. 😂

Last week, we had a private group come into our kitchen to package meals, and the Grace Point Nazarene Church Youth absolutely knocked it out of the park! 🙌

Now we’re opening our kitchen back up to the public, and we could use some lovely volunteers next Tuesday, the 29th! 💙

We have LOTS of meals to pack, and these evenings truly are such a fun time. Whether you come on your own, bring a friend, or bring the whole family, there is something for every person to do.

You guys… FALL IS HERE!! 🍂☕️

The temps are dropping, the sweaters are coming out, and we’re officially entering one of our favorite seasons! So we want to know:

🍁 What’s your favorite fall tradition?

While we’re brainstorming some fun fall things around here this morning, we’re also reminded that the changing seasons bring deeper needs for many of the people we serve. As the weather gets colder, the need for warm meals, food, and support becomes even more apparent!

And as we continue developing incredible partnerships throughout our community, we’re seeing more clearly just how many needs exist. We can accomplish so much more when we work together. 💙

But in our defense… we REALLY love what we do.

We could talk about rescued food, volunteers, meals, our amazing partners, feeding our neighbors, and all the ways this little nonprofit keeps growing ALL. DAY. LONG.

🌶️ GUYS… IT’S A PEPPER PALOOZA. 🌶️

Remember those 60 boxes of peppers we told you about?
Yeah… well… WE GOT MORE. 😂 Thank you to this incredible group of lovely ladies from Pathway Community Church’s Garden for helping us so far!

At this point, we’re establishing next week as an official pepper work week and opening up the kitchen to some extra volunteers to help us process ANOTHER PALLET of peppers coming our way! 🙌

Whether you can come for an hour, a few hours, or stay for the whole pepper-palooza—we’ll take ALL the help we can get!

🌶️ Chop and Prep is the name of the game.
Help us turn a seriously ridiculous amount of rescued produce into delicious meals for our neighbors.
