Yumm-Ease

Yumm-Ease I am a Celiac who makes GF baked goods for a cause! 10%+ of my monthly profits are donated to an org. I am a 26-year-old Celiac who loves to bake.

Permanently closed.

dedicated to fighting for social justice, mental health, &/or equal rights. Having multiple chronic illnesses, I have had to learn what foods make me feel good, and which don’t. Unfortunately, some of my absolutely favorite foods made me feel the worst! So I spent much of this last year creating and learning how to make the foods and desserts I’ve so desperately missed. I’ve learned how to bake wi

th all kinds of non-dairy, grain-free, refined-sugar-free, and egg-free options. I’m flexible with dietary restrictions, so please contact me with your questions! Due to the Indiana Board of Health regulations, baked goods must be picked up. Address will be given upon order. Let’s work together and figure out something yummy! I’ll do the Chit you don’t want to!

Dear Yumm-Ease family,

I cannot thank you enough for your incredible support through 2021. When I started up this home-vendor business, I never expected it to take off the way it did. Unfortunately, due to my chronic health issues, I will have to permanently close Yumm-Ease. My dream is to someday open a storefront, but for the next few years, I want to focus on getting healthy and ready for such a situation.

I cannot express my gratitude enough. It astounds me that I had so much business I could no longer keep up! In my wildest dreams, I never could have expected such an outcome.

With your help, I was able to donate to 9 different charities and support many diverse nonprofits across the globe. I got to bake goodies for people with invisible disabilities and allergies, and for their events ranging from weddings to baby showers to birthday parties. Best of all, I was able to spread love and happiness through the heart of the stomach! I cannot thank you enough, again.

With love,
Taylor

Due to unforeseen circumstances with my health, I’ve had to make the hard decision to temporarily close Yumm-Ease. I am so grateful for everyone’s support over this last year, but I need to take a step back so that I can fully recover. My hope is that in the next month or two I can reopen and come back full force, so that I am once again able to serve those of you who also struggle with invisible disabilities. Thank you all so much for your support, and I hope to be back very soon.

With love,
Taylor

I haven’t been on for a bit due to vacation time and contracting COVID earlier this week. Since I haven’t had as many orders as usual, I’ve decided to extend my donation through January’s profits to The Global Fund. I need a bit of time to continue recovering, but please message me with your orders! My plan is to start taking them starting January 18th. Thank you, friends!

My month has been a bit hectic, so this post is coming late.

December is HIV/AIDS Awareness Month. This month, I will be donating 10% of my profits to The Global Fund.

The Global Fund works to “to defeat HIV, TB and malaria and ensure a healthier, safer, equitable future for all.” In areas where The Global Fund invests, they’ve seen a 46% yearly decrease in deaths from AIDS, TB, and malaria!* Read more about this organization in the link at the bottom of this post.

If you would like to make a donation on your own, please visit https://act.unfoundation.org/onlineactions/FJvB3vUCJUepH_5KN75TTQ2.

Get your orders in ASAP! I will not be taking orders after December 22nd as I will not be in town.

Happy eating, friends, and happy holidays!

In 2021, the Global Fund celebrates 20 years since we were founded. During that time, we have made remarkable progress against HIV, TB and malaria. But over the last year, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been devastating. For the first time in the Global Fund’s history, key HIV, TB and mal...

This came a little late, but I just made my November donation to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women USA (MMIW USA). Thank you again to those of you who give a little extra so that I am able to donate more.

Look out in the next few days to see where I will be donating for “HIV/AIDS Awareness Month.” I will not be taking orders for after December 22nd, as I will not be in Fort Wayne. Get your orders in ASAP, and message me if you have any questions!

I took a few days to research and decide where to donate for National Native American Heritage month. There are so many amazing organizations, but I wanted to donate to one that is actively pursuing justice, now.

The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women USA is an organization whose number one mission is “to bring our missing home and help the families of the murdered cope and support them through the process of grief.”*

There are severe issues with the way the US government handles cases of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women; one of the biggest evidences is research done by the Urban Indian Health Institute. They showed that 2016, there were 5712 cases reported of MMIW, but only 116 were logged into the Department of Justice database*

Native Hope reports, “Native American women make up a significant portion of the missing and murdered cases. Not only is the murder rate ten times higher than the national average for women living on reservations but murder is the third leading cause of death for Native women. This is startling as Native people only make up 2% of the US overall population. Urban Indian Health Institute reports the youngest MMIW victim was a baby less than one year old and the oldest victim was an 83-year-old.”*

Our government NEEDS to do better, and it starts with us. You can donate this month with me to mmiwusa.org, and/or you can visit the following websites to learn more. I also encourage you, if possible, to buy from and promote Native American owned businesses this holiday season rather than large conglomerates. Do your best to learn about the history of colonization and raise awareness of the drastic issues indigenous people are facing to this day.

Thanks to all of you who came out to the Trunk or Treat yesterday! We had so much fun getting to say “hi” to you all and provide some allergy-friendly candy. Hope you had a great Halloween!

I just made my donation to the YWCA Northeast Indiana. As a home vendor, I don’t always make a huge profit every month. I am extremely grateful to those who give a little extra with their purchase so that I am able to give more to these amazing organizations! Keep your eye out over the next couple of days to see where I am donating for National Native American Heritage Month.
Thanks again for your support!
