National Poem in Your Pocket Day shares the way poetry brings joy by simply carrying one in your pocket. When you share the poem, you'll bring joy to others.

There are so many different styles of poetry. This day, however, places no restrictions on the rhyme, rhythm, syllables, or length. The goal is to share a poem. You may scribble it on a receipt or recite one while waiting in line. Add a poem to the back of an envelope on outgoing mail. Don't be surprised if you discover a poem tucked into a book. You might even find one jotted down on the side of your coffee cup or on the tag of your teabag.

On April 13th, we have an opportunity to break a trend that has been occurring around the country by joining National Make Lunch Count Day.

According to a recent study commissioned by TGI Fridays, the majority of U.S. workers suffer from “FOLO” – otherwise known as a “Fear of Lunching Out.” Many workers eat lunch at their desk at least twice a week (73%) while one-third have lunch at their desk every day of the week. National Pet Day on April 11th dedicates the day to those pets who may not always get the companionship and attention pets deserve. While loving our pets is something we do every day, the observance encourages helping out orphaned pet companions. It will improve their health and enhance their opportunities for adoption.
Sometimes their human companions aren't well. Making sure their forever furry friends are receiving the best of care will help relieve stress and worry.

GOLD STAR SPOUSES DAY
Gold Star Spouses Day on April 5th honors the surviving loved ones of military service members who died while serving their country.



The day offers remembrance for the spouses and their families and a time of recognition of their sacrifices. Many communities and organizations hold events showing support for Gold Star families on this day. Through ceremonies, teas, memorial races, and luncheons, they honor and remember fallen warriors.
The loss of our service members extends beyond the battlefield and their service to their country. They leave behind grieving wives and husbands who become members of an exclusive community no one asks to join. Our support, understanding, and respect are the least we can provide in return as a grateful nation. Domino’s salutes the Gold Star Spouses today.
