Imagine knowing what we do. We work our ass off to support the community and then some big company calls and wants to do a food truck event to try and get new customers. This company has a market value of 125 BILLION DOLLARS and they try and get us to do it at a loss. They literally want us to man the food truck give orders out for four hours all for 250 dollars. Tomorrow we’re feeding two different groups, literally hundreds of people for free but these are homeless people and Valarie’s house, an organization that helps kids dealing with huge loss. So yea I will pay for them, but if your gazzilion dollar business why not over pay us so we can continue to support the community. Honestly I don’t know who does more than us, I’m sure they exist, I just haven’t heard of them. The facts are, we can do a lot because we do the work. We also have great food. So it’s not like you have to eat garbage to help support the community, you get a world class dining experience. Today we had a dad and daughter stop in for breakfast. The daughter is in an intern at 211. If you need help you are supposed to dial 211 for help. The girl told me what we already know, they just pass you on to someone who passes you on to someone who passes you on. We actually do stuff every day. Anyways I’m done venting.

A guy and a car. Working in a restaurant you meet some cool people. You also hear your fair share of restaurant stories, their restaurant story. People will tell you how much fun they had working in a restaurant. They look back on that part of their life fondly. They always remember the customers, how much fun they were. The ones they got to know. They miss how in just a few minutes you can learn all about someone, their biggest wins and worst days. This guy in the pic is one of those guys and I got to say if you're 84 you should drive a Camero rocket ship. Love you all live til you don't

I massage my sausage. Don't worry this is a family friendly post. People always tell me how our sausage gravy is the best they ever had. Honestly I have people come in and tell me they hate gravy and I convince them to try it and,, WHAMMO,, they like gravy, or I should say my gravy. It does come down to good sausage and how you cook and massage it. Low and slow in a covered pot is how you cook it. The longer it cooks the more flavorful it becomes. I then pour it in a big bowl and massage my flour mixture into it. This makes a very creamy, sausagy gravy. Love you all

So we got called out on one of our posts about being a clout ju**ie. Somehow by helping a young teen mom who aged out of foster care we are a piece of s**t. I use the word we but let's be honest I did the post and so I'm the lying clout seeker. I could say no good deed goes unpunished but I get enough praise, so a little smacking around shouldn't bother me as much as this does. Mostly it's because I truly know how hard we work and others to help strangers. A while ago we got reached out to by another agency to help an aged out teen mom. We looked at the case and it was gonna take a lot of work and money. We met with the aged out teen mom and made a deal. We would take care of the issues aka bills, clean her house, furnish it (there was no furniture) figure out transportation and even make sure there is some fun money. Her responsibility was graduate from cosmetology school. We and our customers did everything we promised and more. The young lady did her part and graduated. Success. We feel it important to share these stories with our community because so many of them help us help. We also hope by sharing what we did and the results will encourage more people to get involved with kids who need help. If they see positive results they're more likely to help the next kid. Then after working all day Amy tells me we're getting blasted on a post I did. Basically our support was negligible and all we care about is clout and we got scammed because this girl really did it all herself and didn't need the help and we are liars. This was from the girls mom we just spent thousands of dollars and countless hours on. First it was the girls choice to be in foster care and this really did everything by herself and we are doing this for clout. Well here are the facts. We were asked by another agency to get involved. The teen mom had a dirty house and nothing in it though. We with volunteers went in and cleaned the house . We then furnished it. We ordered and had groceries delivered. One of our amazing customers bought them a new washer and dryer. They had a portable thing they got from Walmart for 75 dollars. I actually bought that from them and gave it to someone who lived in a camper. We then paid off all the utilities and phone bills. Her utilities were just a few days away from being turned off. If the utilities were turned off she would of been evicted. We the got her an electric bike to make getting around a little easier and quicker. We had another one of our customers drive her to school multiple, multiple days and paid for Ubers to get her where she needed to go. We mentioned and encouraged her as well as went and fought for her when she did something stupid at school. We made sure we held up our end whether it was groceries or rides or special occasions aka fun stuff to keep her going. Everything you would do for your own kid and then some that is what we did. Somewhere along the way she got her license and another agency got her insurance and she bought a car with maybe tax refund. The engine blew in that car and she hired off of Craigslist to put a new used one in. We told her it was a bad idea and we had a car for her but she wanted to do it her way. Obviously it didn't work out and we ended up towing it when she got stranded. Now we typically only talk about the successes we have with these kids but a ton of work, time, calls, scratch your head type things are part of getting a kid to the finish line. I don't know why she was in foster care or what the deal was with her family, all we knew was what we were told and what we agreed to. There are millions of kids out there that are in similar situations and no fault of the parents. So I don't blame anyone, we just try and help as much as we can. If I won the lottery I would spend it all on trying to help as many kids get a start in a career. If you helped us we thank you, in this case we got a victory. The girl graduated and I won't let all our resources and hard work get minimized because some parent doesn't know how to say thank you and our help somehow takes away from the work she did to raise a girl smart enough to ask for help. In this parents mind her daughter could of done everything by herself and nothing is further from the truth than that. If we start believing that the next kid that needs help we will say you can do it by yourself and maybe he can't. Maybe he needed just little help but we turn our back because we don't want someone to be offended by our support. Obviously I'm just pi**ed because once again I get s**t on for helping. I'm done venting
