Life lately looks a little different. 💛🍋

If Maddie’s has seemed a little quieter lately, there’s a pretty big reason behind it.

Our family has been focused on Mr. Lemonade and his recovery after his kidney transplant. That has meant slowing down, rearranging schedules, spending more time together and taking things one day at a time.

And while the trailer hasn’t been moving quite as much, Maddie’s is still very much here. 💕

This little business has always been a family business, and sometimes family has to come first.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has checked on us, prayed for our family, supported Maddie and continued supporting our little pink-and-yellow trailer.

We’re finding our rhythm again…and there are still plenty of sweet days ahead. 🍋✨

Hey everyone!

Thank you to everyone who has reached out. I know Bibi has been keeping everyone updated. I am doing well. My numbers are improving, with some side effects along the way, but so far my kidney is trending in the right direction.

However, Bibi and I have been left with some extra costs. Due to no accommodation in the recovery facility in Tampa, I am left to travel 3 times a week to Tampa to see my transplant team. It was either traveling or finding extended long term accommodations near the facility. The first initial weeks are the most critical since they are monitoring and adjusting my medications as needed. Bibi has also taken leave from work, without pay, to ensure I make all my appointments.

If you are able to donate towards a tank of gas, or other travel expenses, we would appreciate it. If you cant, we completely understand, sharing and keeping us in your prayers also helps more than you know.

From VPAA student ➡️ to pulling up with her own lemonade trailer. 🥹🍋💗

This one felt a little different.

We had the sweetest time welcoming students and families back for VPAA’s Open House, serving everyone from the littlest students to the big kids getting ready for another year. ✏️📚

But for Maddie, this wasn’t just another school event. VPAA was once her school. And now she got to come back on the other side of the window — taking orders, making drinks, seeing familiar faces and serving a school community that was once part of her own story. 🥹

There’s something pretty special about watching your child return to a place she once walked into as a student… as a young business owner. 💕

Thank you VPAA for having Maddie’s Sweet Lemonade be part of the start of another school year! Here’s to new classrooms, new friendships, new memories & a SWEET year ahead! 🍋✨

Even though Mr. Lemonade will be out for a while, our team is rolling out during the weekend to continue serving. Weekday events will be paused for now.

🍋 A Message from the Maddie’s Sweet Lemonade 🍋

Many of you know Calvin as “Mr. Lemonade.” Whether he’s serving your favorite drink, grilling hot dogs, making you laugh, or greeting you with a smile, he’s been the heart behind our trailer since day one.

What many of you may not know is that for the past several years, Calvin has been courageously battling Stage 5 kidney failure while continuing to show up for our family, our business, and our community.

Last night, we received the call we have been praying for. This morning, Calvin received his kidney transplant.

We are beyond grateful to share that the surgery went well. He is awake, doing well, and recovering.

Our family is overwhelmed by the love we’ve received. Thank you to everyone who has prayed, checked in, sent messages, and supported us throughout this journey. Your kindness has carried us through some of our hardest days, and we are eternally grateful.

We also want to honor the incredible donor and their family. This precious gift of life came through an unimaginable act of generosity during one of the hardest moments a family can face. We are praying for them and will never take this gift for granted.

As Calvin begins his recovery, we ask for your continued prayers—for healing, strength, and that his body continues to accept this incredible gift.

If you reach out and don’t hear back right away, please know that Mr. Lemonade is focusing on resting and recovering. We will do our best to keep everyone updated as he heals.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting not only our small business, but our family. We cannot wait for the day Mr. Lemonade is back behind the trailer, serving smiles and squeezing fresh lemonade for all of you.
