Dear Social Media World,
Some of you may criticize this post but we are hopeful many of you will understand.
When we opened our Fort Mill Emmet’s location 2.5 years ago, we had a great outlook on the future and location (we had our eyes on Fort Mill for a couple of years). As time has gone on, we have come to the tough realization that our concept is not built for the size space we have forced it into. Lots of little plates means lots of hands to execute. As a group we have decided that as much as we love our location, it is time to pivot. Many of you will read this and think “that location is cursed”, though a fair thought from the outside looking in, it isn’t. We have had some very successful days there, however, the overall body of work has not proved our concept a sustainable one for the space. We truly feel it just needs the right place to compliment what the town needs. Our leadership team has already begun reimagining the space. We are excited to bring something fresh and new and have narrowed it down to a few options. As of now, we are not prepared to share.
Over the last few days, we have racked our brains on the best way to start this process, with the least amount of impact to our team that we have grown to love and appreciate. Instead of just shutting the doors, we decided to provide our team 2 weeks’ notice to secure future employment. They have been the backbone of Emmet’s and we can’t thank them enough for all the hard work.
In summary, Emmet’s in FORT MILL will be open through Sunday, July 9th. We hope to have a speedy turn around to be back open serving Fort Mill with a different, more sustainable concept!
Thank you for your understanding. Our Waxhaw location is NOT in jeopardy and accepts any gift cards purchased for Fort Mill!
Thank you for your support for the last couple of years. Stay tuned for what the future holds!
