Beans have been part of Colombian cuisine for centuries, but in the mountains of Antioquia, they became something truly special.

Bean Casserole (Cazuela de Frijoles) is a hearty, comforting dish inspired by the flavors that fueled generations of farmers and muleteers working long days in the Andes. Today, it's one of the region's most beloved traditional meals.

At Colombian Mountains Cafe, we prepare it the traditional way—with red beans, crispy pork belly, Colombian chorizo, sweet plantains, rice, arepa, fried egg, and avocado.
