Well, we clocked another trip around the sun.
On Monday, we turned 16. What a crazy ride it has been. Thank you for all of your support over the years. Everything that you do helps us go and keep going. Telling friends or bringing them in for a meal. Buying hot sauce, inviting the food truck, leaving a review somewhere... It all adds up.
We have tried really hard over the last 16 years to be the best. We know we have a long way to go, and a lot of work left to do. I have no idea how long we will be around and what the future of the restaurant business holds for any of us. I do know that we aren't done fighting yet. We will keep pushing to get better. I have been working on a ton of our recipes to, well, just make them better. Not huge changes, but updates. I'm not sure what version this will be, but New.0 is coming next. Over the next few weeks, look for everything we make to be a better version of what it is now. We have already started a few items, but more to come.
Anyhow, the most important part of this post.... Thank you to all the crew members that have put on the black and red over the years. Many have left a huge impact on Matador and me as well. Most of the people who have rolled through this little shop are still friends today. I am incredibly blessed to not only have them work at Matador, but to still be in touch to this day.
To all of our customers, new and old.... Thank you for all of the support over the years. Catering, Teacher appreciation, weddings, celebrations of life, graduations, birthdays, you name it and we have been a part of so many special occasions I can't possibly list them all. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for letting us be a part of your special moments. It means the world to all of us.
From day one, I have told everyone that we are in the friend business. We will continue to be and do just that for as long as we are open. We will continue to do everything we can to support our community and other businesses around us.
