The restaurant is family-owned and operated, and is the result of a long-time dream by owner George Liang. George was born on the mainland of China, left with his parents for Taiwan in the early 1960s, then came to the US in 1973. He has worked in the restaurant business for more than 20 years. George opened his first restaurant in 1981 in Grand Island, Nebraska. This was the first Hunan Restauran

t, to be followed by restaurants in Kearney, NE, Hastings, NE, and then Greeley, CO. The Liang family is committed to serving high-quality dishes, using the best and freshest vegetables, meats and seafoods available. George has been known to never compromise on quality--even when it has meant extra cost to the restaurant. Hunan has prided itself on keeping prices reasonable for its patrons, while still serving up heaping portions of some of the best food to be found at any restaurant around. After 20 years in the restaurant business and more than a decade as an owner, George says that the greatest reward he gets is the appreciation of returning patrons, the smiles and compliments of long-time supporters, who like the food, service and atmosphere Hunan provides.
