It’s been a crazy week. But it’s time to put a stop to things going on. Yes all of our guys were paid, yes the two businesses involved has stepped up to fix a problem that occurred. The owner of El Lago Esteban Aguirre and my self Fat Daddy had a huge communication break down. I did lay my guys off. I had to make some tough decisions based on what I thought was going to happen. Instead of keeping my thoughts and ideas on how things were progressing, both he and I made a quick decision. Those who know me know I get things done. So it has brought around the sudden closure of a long term business. Yes feelings are raw, but I am asking since we both made the decision to close fat daddy’s that we accept the changes with grace and dignity and move on. I’ve asked my employees to accept this with dignity and grace to stay above all the miss communications. In reality it’s something that he and I should have done when we sold back in may. That would have prevented this issue. We both wanted to save quality employees and have him venture off into the bbq world to do that. Esteban has made decisions to purchase our place based on that as well. He is a hard working hard charging business man as well. I still believe that had we laid a better plan out this would not have happened. It’s a two part problem. His and mine. I hope this clears up some of the questions and concerns for the Fat Daddy’s employees and the loss of a long term business. I am very upset that I allowed things to go this way it hurts me deeply. It hurts Esteban and I even worse that we affected our employees in a negative way. You all know that employees are not just employees but are family. Please don’t blame one side or the other for the mess. It is very well both of us sharing a very big problem. We have been meeting to come up with a solution that could work for us both as well as allow me to pursue my grandkids and time to relax. I feel nothing but gratitude to Esteban for willingness to work things out.
One last thought. Can we accept the fact that we both made mistakes. Let us all rise above the the anger and disappointment shown towards both of us for not doing what we should’ve at very onset. This was not be the outcome either of us wanted. We all know Covid was hard but this is harder trying to do what’s right.
