Karaoke tonight at 8:30 w/ Cody Vader!

A funny thing, my kitchen folks mentioned we had a lot of potatoes and I suggested twice baked potatoes as a side dish for something this weekend so... I went over a similar process to what my mom used to do with my kitchen folks and they set to recreating (my mom used 'merican cheese because, well, that's how she rolled... we topped ours with bacon and cheddar because I know how y'all roll) . When done, they put the finished product on a plate for me and I realized, this was no side dish... Available this weekend until we run out, good for an app to share, or a carby meal!

The ol' Thirsty Thursday Live! Happy hour until 6pm, Cody Vader from 6-9... A beautiful day to sit on the patio and listen to the best singer in the Thumb.

We'll have most of the World Cup games going throughout the tournament if your into that sort of thing (Camila being from Brazil, futbol and coffee are pretty much religion) w/ Mexico and South Africa kicking it off at 3pm (we open at 4, but we'll be there for beers and the game at 3).

Speaking of our friend Cody... A little Boondocks history for y'all! In October of 2022 I took over Boondocks on M25 and with it, a whopping three employees. It was a rough start with Camila and I working our full time jobs, my brother in law Steven helping behind the bar, and a host of local friends helping out here and there. Of those three employees, Cody was my lone kitchen dude (with Kathy and Carol up front)... and a pretty good one at that. Him and I would spend a good chunk of the day buried with orders, prep, playing around with new stuff improving old stuff, and talking about music. At some point he mentioned doing karaoke and I agreed, which led to me hearing him sing and thinking "why the hell is this guy cooking instead of singing?!?!". As time went on, we'd have him play sometimes, run karaoke most of the times, he started getting gigs elsewhere,, and he got better and better, eventually leaving behind my pirate ship of a kitchen to play music full time. I have to say, it is a privilege to have him performing here as much as we do, and y'all should get on down to the Docks to check him out!
