Do you love coffee?

This Saturday we are hosting our first pop-up featuring VIK coffee roasters. They will be offering samples of their different roasts and bags to buy. And of course we will have a hot pot of their Guatemalan Jalapa brew ready for you!
This will be a fun way to do a coffee pairing with our brunch menu.

1921 21st Ave Forest Grove

There is still alot of work to do, and we have big plans for the space. Stay posted for the changes to come and come get some food and say hi! We are there 7 days a week (Rodrigo or Mary 6 days). So pretty much any time you come one of us will be there to say hi to. And if you're lucky you might spot a Balam in the wild!

A beautiful Friday afternoon and dinner all ready to serve for you tonigh! shining on the front patio and we're stocked up on some new menu items and beverages for dinner service tonight. We have a few new wines by the bottle, some great beers from and . New kombushas on the way and we have a new burger set!

As always we start with the best pasture raised beef from .love, our house sauce, pickles, grilled onions, cheddar, and topped with house mustard and .collective kohlrabi relish and arugula!!!

With the seasons turned, our tomatillo stock is out and we are on to mole Oaxaqueño enmoladas (enchiladas), and Comida KIN fan fave carrot chile sauce for the papas queso amd leek tacos!

Words of reflection

With the long nights and the new year here, I like to check in with my goals and values in my life and business. To make sure they are still in alignment and getting me to where I want to be.
We find that going with the flow of life means we sometimes have to say goodbye to somethings to make room for other things. But some values (like buying from local farms) will always stay a constant.
With the arrival of Balam we had to let go of our free meal program but continue to find ways to donate whenever its been asked of us.
We continue working with small local farms who focus on land stewardship and value people over profit. The farms we purchase from are owned by the hardest working people we know. Farms who are all focused on the same thing, growing the best quality, clean food for us! What a gift of love!
When you eat with us you are not just eating good food, you are directly supporting a family who lives, shops, goes to school, church, and their broader community. The money you spend with us goes directly back into local communities like Forest Grove, Hillsboro, Aloha, Beaverton, Carlton, and Helvtia (to name a few).

Some may not know: we are now located at 1921 21st ave Forest Grove. This is an exciting new venture with lots of changes and growth. But as we grow into our new building we will always make sure we stay true to our values and our guiding light - food is a right.

We've got a new special while it lasts! And a reminder of a limited menu tonight as well as on Christmas eve so we can spend some time with family. We'll be closed on Christmas day!

We've brined .love beef sirloin tip, roasted it and piled it on baguette with sweet pepper relish and some aged white cheddar cheese. It is served with a side of aioli and some red wine au jus for dipping fun! Add a side salad or ff for $2!!!!! $18

The photo bomb at the end is inside our new burger set. .love beef patty on grilled onions house sauce topped with green tomato bacon jam, (no bacon jam is available), shredduce, and house mustard on sesame bun! Sub our house made English Muffins for $2. $16

We're super grateful to the team this season...for everything! The list is long but we're here because of their support and yours! And a huge shout out to Ben of for holding down the place front and kitchen to give us time off. We can't say it enough, thank you Ben!!!
