New 5.0-star Review: "Delicious. And honestly I dont understand the hype around cooking your own meat at a kbbq. I prefer not having to do the cooking myself. The Kalbi cuts were thick and not covered in sauce so the meat taste can speak for itself. The aged pork belly had a well balance of lean and fat. The seafood pancake was filled with protein and the carbs portion was also extremely crispy. The appetizers were on point and you can get free refills. Planning our next meal here."

Their Oyster Egg Chive Korean Pancake was a revelation, offering a refreshing twist to the classic scallion pancake, which I thoroughly enjoyed without the need to pick anything out. The Aged Pork Shoulder Butt, with its resemblance to Chinese cured meats, was a flavorsome treat. The Braised Short Ribs were a hit, especially with the kids, thanks to their tender, fall-off-the-bone quality and non-spicy nature. The Stir Fried Udon with Chicken, chosen in a non-spicy variant, was succulent and well-balanced. Though I didn't order it this time, their Tteokbokki has been consistently outstanding in previous visits. This restaurant truly caters to all palates, with options to spice up dishes for those who prefer it. The ambiance is complemented by friendly service, despite being managed by just a server and the chef. Jang Dok Dae is a gem for anyone seeking authentic, home-style Korean cooking."

New 5.0-star Review: "So happy I found this hidden gem highly recommended on Yelp. I took the chance and enjoyed a thoroughly DELICIOUS meal here that brought me back to my grandmas cooking. Although I am not of Korean descent, it was the essence of the meal that made me think of her. All the ingredients were of excellent fresh quality paired with excellent flavor profiles. I was so pleased to have a nice hearty meal in solitude and wished my bowl magically refilled the owner was so nice and accommodating and made me feel at home. Korean cuisine is truly a treat that can be enjoyed by the masses and if you're looking for an authentic experience, come eat here. Can't wait to come back with my family and share in the yumminess. New 5.0-star Review: "I'm so glad that we decided to try this place! Despite the plethora of options available for korean food in flushing and bayside, this one really stands out! We both had the mushroom tofu stew and it is one of the best we've had! Not too heavy, filled with veggies and a variety of mushrooms (including a really tasty oyster mushroom).. they really dont skimp on ingredients! The pancakes came with large shrimp, which you never see at other places. The place had a great homey feel and everything seems like just eating at a chef friend's home. Highly recommended!!"

New 5.0-star Review: "This cute little restaurant feels like both homemade and elevated Korean food at the same time. Adorably decorated cafe, with food that was clearly crafted with love. We were especially impressed with the seafood pancake which used actual whole pieces of seafood, minimal dough, and perfect amount of crisp. The banchan options were simple, but there was a fresh tomato salad that was different from other Korean spots out there. I did feel like my LA Galbi lacked some flavor or could have been marinated better but the cook on it was perfect. I appreciated the little perfectly grilled veggies that came with it too. All in all, we were happy with the meal and felt like we were supporting a local mom and pop restaurant with a lot of soul and love. Will definitely be coming back."

New 4.0-star Review: "Been a few times and it's usually pretty empty on weeknights. It's run by an older Korean couple and I've never seen anyone else working there. Things take awhile but the dishes are second to none. It's worth it. Please be patient with them as they're very friendly and working very hard. Ambiance is very unusual for a Korean/asian restaurant. It's decorated more like a small town cafe and 90s dance playlist over the Bluetooth speaker paired well with the inexpensive soju and beer. Banchan varies. One of the unique Banchan was a tomato salad type I've never had anywhere else. Not sure if it's common in other cities or Korea but it's light, acidic and refreshing. All the main dishes I've had are great and feel very homemade and comforting."
