We are excited to announce that on Saturday November 7th, Roanoke Author Cameron Mackenzie will be joining us at The Book House for a reading!

Cameron MacKenzie's novel, The Beginning of His Excellent and Eventful Career, chronicled the rise to power of Pancho Villa and was called “original, poignant, brutal, and beautiful” by Kirkus Reviews. His work has appeared in Wigleaf, Salmagundi, Cleaver, Plume, Blackbird, CutBank, and The Michigan Quarterly Review, among other places, and has earned several Pushcart and Best Microfictions nominations. His short story collection, River Weather, was published in 2022 by Alternating Current Press, won their Book of the Year award, and was a Booklife Editor's Pick.
