Hi. It’s me, Jesse. This is the part I’m still learning.

I’ve spent most of my life on the other side of this lens. I’m usually the one behind the plate on someone’s story, the one photographing clay work or felt pieces I have made. Being the maker was always enough. Being seen making, that’s newer. And if I’m honest, it’s more than a little scary.

But you can’t build a table and then hide in the kitchen. Marigold isn’t just a studio; it’s a room I want to fill with people who are ready to sit down, slow down, and make something imperfect and lovely. And that means showing up in front of you, face first, wonky and real.

So here I am. Come sit with me 🌼

Every layer tells a story.

A torn piece of paper. A brushstroke. A found image. Individually, they may seem simple. Together, they become something entirely new.

That’s the beauty of layered composition. There are no rules to follow, only curiosity to guide the process.

Each piece reflects the hands that made it, the choices along the way, and the story that unfolds one layer at a time.

Every material has a story.

From vintage textiles and hand-dyed yarns to trims, threads, and tools, these are the pieces that inspire what we make every day. They’re collected over time, chosen for their texture, color, and the memories they carry.

Curious where they come to life? Explore our upcoming workshops on our website and find the one that speaks to you. Link in bio.

Someone put a marigold in the Buddha’s bowl.

We spent the afternoon planting. A mug pressed into service as a pot, two old stone planters at the door, dirt everywhere. Somewhere in the middle of it a bloom ended up in the stone hands by the wall, and nobody moved it.

That flower travelled to get here. Marigolds are native to Mexico — Portuguese ships carried them east in the 1500s, and they took to India so completely that it’s hard now to picture a temple threshold without them. Offering flowers, on two sides of the world.

Four hundred years later, in a bowl by our door, doing the same work.

Part 2 of the tour is here. ✨

If you caught Part 1, welcome back! This time, we’re taking a closer look at more of the studio, the creative workspaces, the future podcast corner, and the outdoor space that’s slowly taking shape.

Every table, shelf, and corner is being thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity and bring people together. And soon, that beautiful front door will be painted Marigold orange to welcome you in.

We’re building more than an art studio. We’re creating a place to gather, learn, make, and connect.

We can’t wait to open our doors and share it with you.

Everything starts as a pile of maybes.

Threads in rust, marigold, and sea-glass. Little brass bells. Charms waiting for a wrist. This is the table before the workshop, the quiet part, when nothing’s decided yet and everything still could be.

Come pick your colors this July. We’ll do the rest together.
