We have so truly enjoyed serving you...
This last 16 months has challenged all of us...we’ve been challenged as individuals, as a society, and as a global community. I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been forced to look into our collective mirrors and come to terms with who we are and what is most important to us.
Stronghold Coffee Company was born out of a desire to create and reserve space in our hearts and daily lives for our community - from near and far - to gather, share stories, drink a good cup of coffee, share a cocktail, and eat some home style cooking and sweets. Our little spot off Beaver Street saw a few iterations since Lynda walked through the doors in 2016 - all of them a quest to help and support people to grow to go anywhere and to do anything they dreamed of- but to treat them so well, that they wouldn’t want to. In that, we succeeded. We enjoyed a staple crew of staff, and an amazing crew of regular customers. We forged amazing relationships with other community businesses, and organizations. For all of that, I am so proud to have served with you and for you these past 5 years.
But as the world re-opens and it’s time to “get back to it” - our circumstances have changed. I’m proud to say that Stronghold did not let go of a single employee, and did our best to keep everyone employed and growing. But over the last 16 months, slowly but surely, our team moved on: new careers, new residences, new goals. We found ourselves this spring down to Lynda and one staff member. When it came time to look in that mirror and come to terms with where I, Lynda, am and what I want to do with my life I had to admit: the shop was back at ground zero. It would require the energy, creativity, passion, and 24-7 commitment any new business in this industry requires. I know we’ve built crazy awesome potential in the work we’ve done at Stronghold...but I also knew I was not the one to head up that charge.
And because the Universe was listening, I no sooner threw out there that I’d like to either find a buyer or a new managing partner to forge ahead with, and the Universe provided - both.
It is with great pleasure and excitement I introduce you to Sam and his mom Natasha. They are going to take what we started with and make it different and better. The new name will be Forêt. You can look forward to outstanding coffee drinks, homemade breads, brunch, and even maybe Sunday Supper down the road. Sam brings so much passion and a ton of multi-generational family experience to the table. I can’t wait for him to get us back open! I’ll be there all the time...as a customer for the most part.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us through the last 5 years. My Stronghold email address will remain live for at least the next year, so feel free to reach out any time: [email protected].
Cheers and all our love,
Lynda and the Stronghold Team
