Today I want to recognize someone who has been part of my story for a very long time—my friend, Deanna Griffith (formerly Deanna Lenhart).

We were the girls who couldn’t stop talking in class and somehow always found ourselves laughing instead of paying attention. Friday, as we stood side by side filling hygiene kits for Bless Up & Bloom—thanks to the incredible support of the Jolly Dipper—we couldn’t help but laugh about those memories.

Who would have thought those two chatty girls would grow up to become leaders in our community?

Deanna is a true powerhouse. She has fought battles that most people can’t even imagine. She is a breast cancer survivor in remission, a veteran who served our country, a successful entrepreneur, an incredible wife and mother, and someone who leads with resilience, compassion, and heart.

We both grew up fast. We both became moms at a young age. Sitting with her daughters Friday, watching the next generation grow, was such a full-circle moment. It reminded me how far we’ve both come.

She’s serving smiles one scoop of ice cream at a time through The Jolly Dipper, and I’m working to bring dignity and wellness through hygiene kits. Different missions, but the same heart—to make our community better.

I also want to thank her husband, Wes, and everyone at the Jolly Dipper for believing in Bless Up & Bloom. From the Blooming Sundae fundraiser to helping assemble hygiene kits, your generosity is making a real difference in the lives of so many.
