Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!!

As Chef and I eagerly wait for our juniors to arrive for their first day at Millstream and our seniors to arrive for their first last day at Millstream, I would like to shine a spotlight on Chef Killian.

Yesterday at our Trojan Kickoff Chef Killian was presented with the FHS/Millstream Teacher of the Year Award. According to his nominations, “He brings his knowledge and experience into the classroom and hands it directly to his students to use as their own. He has high expectations for his students, but patiently teaches and guides them.”

I have had the honor and privilege to work along side Chef Killian last year and witness his love for food and teaching and his patience and compassion for the students first hand. He takes the time to talk with the students, he is always making them laugh, and he gives them an outlet to be creative with the food they make. It’s no wonder the students treat him like a local celebrity!

Chef Killian is a very humble man and always wants it to be about the students. However, I think being presented with the FHS/Millstream Teacher of the Year Award after his first year should be acknowledge and celebrated.

Congratulations Chef Killian on behalf on the students and I, we are extremely proud of you and thankful to have you as the Culinary Arts instructor at Millstream!
