We’re incredibly honored to be a small part of this journey.
When Jay shared Cameron’s story and the mission behind Foster to Family, the answer was easy. Some things are bigger than bikes, bigger than pizza, and bigger than business. This is one of them.
Thank you for trusting us to help get you to the starting line. We know the miles ahead won’t always be easy, but neither was the road that brought Cameron to where he is today.
We can’t wait to follow along as these bikes carry you across 1,000+ miles, sharing a message that every child deserves hope, family, and a future.
The vehicle changed. The mission didn’t.
We’re proud to be riding along with you. ❤️🚴♂️
🚨 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
Sometimes things happen beyond our control.
Several months ago, Honda issued a stop-sale on the Honda Ruckus, the vehicle we had planned to use for our Foster to Family journey. Since then, we’ve been patiently waiting and hoping the stop-sale would be lifted.
As our departure date continued to get closer, we found ourselves running out of time.
We had a choice.
We could sit still and wait, or we could adapt and keep moving forward.
Just like many children and families in the foster system, we’ve learned that life doesn’t always go according to plan. When challenges arise, you adjust, overcome, and continue the mission.
After a lot of discussion and planning, we made the decision to transition from the Ruckus to bicycles.
One phone call changed everything.
I called Johnny at Pedal’n Piand explained the situation. I told him about the mission, the challenges we were facing, and our determination to keep moving forward.
His response was simple:
“Come up and see me.”
From the moment we walked through the door, Johnny believed in the mission.
He helped put us on bikes that checked all the boxes for a 1,000+ mile journey while keeping the project affordable. He’s helping outfit the bikes with the gear we need for the road ahead, including bags, lights, and a Burley trailer.
Most importantly, he believed in what we’re trying to accomplish.
For those who may not know, Foster to Family is a father-and-son journey from Fredericktown, Missouri, to Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina to raise awareness for children in foster care. Cameron spent 13 years in foster care before becoming part of our family, and this mission is about showing that our past does not determine our future.
The truth is, neither of us are professional cyclists. I’m 49 years old, and we’re both stepping far outside our comfort zones. This journey won’t be easy, and that’s exactly the point. Growth happens when we challenge ourselves to do things we never thought possible.
Today, we are proud to officially recognize Pedal’N Pi as a sponsor and partner in this journey.
Johnny, thank you for believing in the mission, believing in Cameron, and helping us keep this dream alive.
Challenges build strength. Comfort builds nothing.
The vehicle changed.
The mission did not.
