Let us introduce ourselves - Mary Becher and Ursula Nanson - friends for over 20 years they met by the wood pile next to the smoker at Elmer’s Texas BBQ and worked together with one of the most incredible teams that have ever worked in a restaurant. With over 25+ years in the restaurant business these ladies are not only as well seasoned as their meat, but they appreciate and know how to deliver great service and cook with passion. Mary and Ursula remained friends over the years after they both had their turn owning and operating Elmer’s. Having grown in their Faith - these bossy babes are using their talents and walking in faith to provide quality and hospitality through the meals they serve. Mary says they tossed around the idea of opening another brick and mortar restaurant and then when one of their dear friends purchased Balmoral Golf Course they knew it was time to take our passion for great BBQ on the road. They will be serving the Otter Tail Lakes Area and surrounding cities starting May 2023. They will be able to provide their famous Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Baby Back Ribs for your events - Graduation Parties, Open Houses, Lake Day Picnics, or if you just hang on the boat too long and don’t want to cook. They will be available to provide consistent authentic BBQ. What does that mean - these ladies will be cooking low and slow all night to produce the meat you haven’t seen in these parts since they last owned Elmer’s. Does it sound cocky? Ursula respods, “ Yeah it might be, but we know what we put into producing the best BBQ in the area and you will appreciate all the attention to detail we take in cooking for you.”

Look for them at BALMORAL GOLF COURSE IN BATTLE LAKE (they will be joining Kaari Speer in her new venture) you can visit The BABES AT BAL!!! Outstate Brewing, Fergus Brewing, and the Kirkbride for their Summer Concert Series, Elbow Lake Golf Course and other fun community events. The Bossy Babes are thrilled to get back in front of the community and visit with old friends and make new ones - isn’t that the whole point of having a BBQ!

Hello Race fans and Wissota Auto Racing and I-94 emr Speedway fans.
Sorry for the late update but you'll notice our food truck made it to the races thanks to a very dear friend who moved it for us. We were on schedule for events starting Tuesday night, when I had severe pancreatitis attack (with two gall stones logged in my bile duct). Needless to say I've been in the hospital since Monday night.
Let me assure all my catering clients that everything will proceed as normal this weekend. You are good and you are our priority!!!
Secondly, Wissota and race fans we will be opening Friday and Saturday.
I've had one surgery yesterday and with a little help from the big man in Heaven, I'll have the second surgery today sometime.
My team is ready for Friday and Saturday service at the races weather permitting, I'm not sure that I personally will be back but I'll do my best!
Thank you to everyone who has help and stepped up to assist me and my husband. You're help had allowed him to be by my side during this very painful and scary incident. Thank you I truly appreciate your kindness.

A big thank you to Concordia College and Cobber Football for having us at last night's game. It was a complete sell out for BBQ!! We will see you October 10th for the next evening game!

Well these past few days I have enjoyed food other people have been cooking and this is one I had to share.
Visiting friends in IA, I was treated to a delicious dinner with steak and chimichurri. My friend made such an amazing chimichurri I had to get the recipe and make it for dinner tonight!
Hers was better I think it has to do with the champagne vinegar she's able to find locally. But I'm ordering some for the future. Thank you Renee Svanda Riley this one's for you!! I'll have pictures of the rest of the meal once that's done and if I don't forget!

WOW do I have exciting news to share!!

First off - THANK YOU without you, our customers this would not be possible.

WE WON BEST FOOD TRUCK (2nd YEAR IN A ROW) AND BEST CATERING.

I have so much gratitude in my heart, I am so thankful to my husband who is my biggest cheerleader, to the Bossy Crew (Madi, Griffin, Timmy, Staci, Becca, and Big Tim) you keep my crazy in check and we would not have gotten here without all of you.
To all of you who support us, love our food, and have us be a part of your special occasions we appreciate you more than you can imagine.

We will continue to provide the highest quality of BBQ and hope that you will continue to love eating it!!
We look forward to being back next week and getting the smoke show started again!

Happy September Bossy Fans!

We are starting this month with some much needed R&R. We are recharging our souls with reflection and rest!
We are taking a week off to spend some time with family and friends, and recharging our social batteries so we can finish for the remainder of our food truck season.
We will be back in action Sept 12th for the Concordia College football game.
Our last day on the food truck will be Oct 13th. We will be doing a last call for BBQ where you can order meat for your freezer over the winter. More to come on that.
We hope you enjoy this Labor Day weekend and look forward to coming back refreshed!
