Pushkin’s classic just got an Arkansas makeover.

TheatreSquared is bringing a brand-new, foot-stomping theatrical experience to Fayetteville with the premiere of Eugene Onegin: A Bluegrass Musical. Running from June 10 through June 28, 2026, this brilliant production completely reimagines Pushkin's classic novel and Tchaikovsky's opera, transporting the story straight to 1940s rural Arkansas.

Created by Sarah Gancher and directed by Rachel Chavkin, the show delivers a potent mix of original bluegrass and country music, barbecue, and feverish young love. It follows a local girl who dreams of writing songs as she falls for a dangerously magnetic, jaded touring musician. First developed right here at the 2024 Arkansas New Play Festival, this production is a homegrown triumph you won't want to miss. Secure your seats at and experience the vibrant culture of Fayetteville's arts scene.

Fayetteville’s streets are essentially an open-air museum.

Every single corner of this town holds a hidden detail just waiting to be discovered if you slow down and look around.

These colorful utility boxes scattered throughout Fayetteville quietly transform ordinary sidewalks and street corners into unexpected galleries. Since 2013, local artists have been beautifying the community through this creative graffiti abatement initiative, which has successfully discouraged tagging and vandalism on city-owned light-signal boxes.

Managed by the Fayetteville Arts Council and the Arts and Culture Division of Parks and Recreation, it is the kind of public artwork you do not necessarily set out to find, but you are always glad when you do. It is just one of the many reasons a simple walk around Fayetteville rarely stays simple for long.

Fayetteville is the stage, and everyone is on the lineup!

Make Music Day is on Sunday, June 21, and Fayetteville is joining over 1,000 cities worldwide for a massive summer solstice celebration that turns our entire community into an open-air concert. We are inviting local musicians, businesses, and neighbors to help us fill the air with music wherever and however they can.

The day is already shaping up with interactive music experiences at the Pryor Center on the downtown square, a public piano installation outside the Fayetteville Town Center, and free performances popping up at venues all over town. From sidewalks and neighborhood parks to patios and shop storefronts, the goal is to create a free, live soundtrack flowing through every corner in town. You do not need to be a professional musician or have a flawless setlist ready to go. Whether you play guitar on a porch, sing in a park, host an open mic, or just want to strum a few chords, this day belongs to anyone who wants to make some noise.

To get listed on our community calendar, just keep these three rules in mind: your activation must happen on June 21, it must be centered around music, and it must be completely free to the public.

Visit the link below to register your performance, sign up as a host venue, or find out how you can support local live music on the solstice.

Fayetteville runs on great coffee.

The secret to a perfect morning here is ducking into one of the neighborhood spots that anchor our community. Taking a detour to a place like WORD Coffee on College Avenue is a daily ritual for many of us. It’s a perfect example of why this city loves a good brew, serving up everything from meticulous pour-overs to grab-and-go croissants that elevate the morning routine.

Tapping into our coffee scene is the easiest way to feel the creative, welcoming energy that defines Fayetteville. It’s where you get a real taste of the local vibe.

So go ahead and slow down your morning the Fayetteville way. The emails can wait, but that perfectly pulled espresso won’t.

The trails of Fayetteville are calling, and we have one for every kind of explorer!

Around here, a trail isn't always just a paved path to dinner on Dickson Street. For National Trails Day, we are celebrating that Fayetteville is the ultimate launchpad for every type of trek imaginable. Whether you are looking for an easy, accessible stroll through town or a rugged weekend escape, the perfect route is just minutes away.

Today is all about stepping off the beaten path to find the hidden gems just outside of town. We are talking about the dirt trails that wind through deep hardwood forests, lead you across rushing creeks, and end at tucked-away waterfalls or breathtaking Ozark vistas.

Pick a brand-new trail to explore today, or introduce a friend to your favorite local overlook. If you want to show our incredible backyard some extra love, bring a small bag to pack out any litter you find along the way. However you choose to celebrate National Trails Day, it is a great opportunity to give back to the wild spaces that make Northwest Arkansas so spectacular.

Dust off your folding chairs, Fayetteville!

The Gulley Park Summer Concert Series returns tonight, kicking off six straight Thursdays of live music, food trucks, and the kind of relaxed evenings that define summer in Fayetteville. This season marks a massive milestone as we celebrate thirty years of bringing neighbors together at the park.

Before long, the hill will be a sea of chairs and blankets, kids will be running laps around the gazebo, and everyone will be treating themselves to the best local food trucks in town. Around here, the music is almost secondary to the ritual of it all, a beloved tradition that has united Fayetteville for three decades.

Singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin gets the music started tonight from 7 to 9 pm, officially launching the milestone 30th anniversary season.

Thank you, Fayetteville Parks and Recreation, for another jamming summer! Some traditions stick around for 30 years for a reason. Click the link below for the full season lineup and all the details.
