With more than 1700 restaurants and 50 years under his belt, Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy opened Truett’s Luau in December of 2013

At the age of 92, Truett wanted his last project to be a special restaurant with an environment focused on having fun and celebrating life with family and friends. Throughout the planning and building process, Truett made frequent trips to the site to ensure everything was in line with his vision to "bring Hawaii to Fayetteville." Beginning with Truett’s notes and doodles on a 3×5 index card, this Restaurant has now become the largest in the Chick-fil-A portfolio at 8,000 square feet, providing guests with a one of a kind experience that combines the hospitality driven spirit of Chick-fil-A with the casual, family loving essence of Hawaii.

🐝 The buzz around the Luau is real! 🐝

Hidden among all the tropical plants and flowers are some of our smallest team members - our honeybees!

Did you know every plant around our property was intentionally chosen to support our bees’ pollination process and help them thrive?
Yes! Even our landscaping has a purpose! Each plant plays a part in supporting the bees and their pollination process.

Once a year, their honey is harvested and donated back into our community! 💛

Pretty sweet, right? 😉🐝

(To keep our bees safe during the remodel, they’re enjoying a temporary home until they can return to the Luau in October!)

🤙 Talk Story Tuesday: The Tikis of Truett’s Luau 🌴

Did you know we have four tiki pole carvings here at Truett’s Luau?

Tiki carvings are often known for their fierce expressions, but Jeanette Cathy, Truett Cathy’s wife, wanted the Luau to reflect the warmth and hospitality that she and Truett valued so deeply. So, instead of fierce faces, you’ll notice something special about our tikis… they’re all smiling!

And these ones have an extra piece of Georgia history; they were carved from an old cypress tree from South Georgia!🌳

Just another little detail that makes the Luau, the Luau. 🤙🌴

🌺Every chapter has a foundation 🌺

Back in 2013, this was the beginning of a dream inspired by Truett Cathy.
At 92 years old, Truett envisioned a place where guests could experience the warmth of the Aloha spirit through genuine hospitality, delicious food, and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. He wanted Truett's Luau to be more than a restaurant; he wanted it to be a place where people could slow down, gather together, and create lasting memories.
Now, over a decade later, we've broken ground once again as we build the next chapter with a brand-new drive-thru and a refreshed dining experience inside.
While our building may change, Truett's vision never will: to care for every guest, serve with genuine hospitality, and create a place where our community feels at home. 🌺💛
