Permanent Closure On August 23rd, 2025
Dear Friends and Loyal Customers,
It is with immense sadness that we announce the permanent closure of Nils Swedish Creamery, effective August 23rd.
This decision has not come easily. In May, we were blindsided by substantial federal fees from the U.S. Department of Labor. Despite following Utah’s state laws and doing our best to operate responsibly and transparently, we were hit with penalties due to federal regulations that we were unaware overruled state guidance. We’ve worked tirelessly to resolve the situation, but the financial burden has proven too great for us to continue.
We are heartbroken. Nils Swedish Creamery has always been about more than just ice cream—it’s been about community, connection, and creating sweet memories with all of you. We are incredibly grateful for every single customer who has supported us, shared a scoop, or brought their families through our doors.
To our amazing team: thank you for your passion, your hard work, and the joy you brought to this business every single day. You are the heart of what made Nils special.
Please come visit us before we close on August 23rd—we’d love the chance to say goodbye and share one last scoop together.
