The Chocolate Moose Diner 3 of our 5 children found their first jobs at The Chocolate Moose and for years it was a favorite place to meet friends and share special moments with family.

In 2025 it looked as though the iconic favorite would be closed forever. A new chapter is here!

We are pleased to report that the weekend was productive, with progress made on the subfloor and the back room floor now completed to a high standard. A young volunteer assisted with removing the wallpaper from the bathroom walls, for which we are grateful. Next steps include completing the subfloor in the kitchen area and accumulating the necessary equipment and furniture. Much remains to be accomplished.

It’s Friday and that means work is getting done! Andrew has a job that he has done for 40 plus years, evaluating clients life insurance needs and he still does that during the week, but on Fridays and Saturdays he’s in the building destructing and reconstructing! One day closer!

And there is something so satisfying about peeling years of paint off a pole! 🤪

When you take on a job of this magnitude, sometimes the work is slow and the steps are baby steps! But Andy is still plugging along and every board and nail is one step closer to the finish. The ceiling is painted, but the floor will take some time to get to the end! All the walls, trim and cabinet will be repainted. Additional stainless steel will be installed and many surprises to come. I’ll give you little glimpses along the way!

Today was a busy day at the Diner space. We had the doors open because it was beautiful outside! Perhaps you hear the saws running and the hammers pounding! Such a huge thanks and shout out to the fantastic young men and women who stepped up to help! You guys were awesome!
It looks worse before it gets better! And we got a lot tore up today!! 😆
