Been a while since I posted on here, again.
Finally went to Kwik Star yesterday (also available at Kwik Trip) to pick up one of those Pothole Pizzas that I have been hearing about on radio ads during the Twins games. Got the Meat Sweats which is basically just a sausage and pepperoni pizza. As you can see, there is plenty of sausage on this thing! It has a thin crust which I thought would be too thin for all that topping but it wasn't. Plenty of cheese so I didn't have to add any like I do to most pizzas. The sauce was above average. Not amazing but I liked it. Not very spicy or zesty though. The pepperoni was fairly thick but just your basic quality pepperoni. Now the sausage is what makes this pizza. They don't call it Italian sausage, and it isn't very spicy, but it has a pretty good flavor to it. As you would expect, there is quite a bit of grease on top after baking it but I thought there would be more. This picture was after de-greasing it. Overall I think it is a pretty good premium pizza for $9.99. I would pay that before I would pay $6.99 for a Pizza corner S&P. I am not a fan of the huge pieces of sausage and would prefer if it was about 1/2 that size and spread out more so you don't get a slice that is loaded with it. I did move a few pieces before and after baking it, so that would be my only complaint. The crust stayed pretty crisp which was good. For a 26.5 ounce pizza it wasn't as filling as I thought it would be. I ate 6 of the 8 pieces but I was pretty hungry. I will definitely be getting another one! 2 more pics in the comments.

So this is about to happen. Picked them up at Sam's Club. Looks amazing. More picks and review in the comments.

Had one of the best pizzas ever last night and it was from Dominos! They have their any pizza any topping deal going on right now for $9.99. Got a extra sausage, pepperoni, ham (Canadian bacon) with extra sauce and extra cheese for the same price. Ate half last night and half tonight. I think the deal is on for at least a few more weeks.

Been a long time since I posted on here. Forgot to do it last night but if you live in F Town or anywhere there is a Marcos Pizza, they have 2 item Large pizzas for $8.99. Limited time so I wouldn't expect it to be going for very long. I had my first one in a LONG time last night and it was great! If this is still going on by Saturday I will get another one.

Haven't posted anything in a while but I finally tried a new pizza, to me, tonight. Picked up one of those Brew Pup MVP 6 Meat pizzas at Hornbacher's yesterday since they were on sale for $6.50. If you are a carnivore and like a lot of meat on your pizzas you will like these. Sausage, diced ham, beef topping, pepperoni, Canadian bacon and bacon. You couldn't really see or taste the bacon though. I'm not sure, but I think the sauce was a little different then their other red sauce pizzas. I believe the crust was a little thinner too. Plenty of cheese like all of the others. Overall I thought they were really good after I degreased it with some paper towels. I may not live through the night but that's ok. If I do, I will buy them again if they are still around when they go on sale. Says Limited Edition on the label.

So I finally tried Red's Savoy Pizza tonight for the first time. Been meaning to do it for a while but after reading my friend Mick's post yesterday, I had to do it today.

Ordered a 10" sausage & pepperoni with extra sauce. First of all, these are not very big pizzas. Their 14" would be their large pizza but was quite a bit more so I thought I would start with a smaller one in case I didn't like it.

Of the pizza restaurants that we have in the Fargo area I would say it is closest to Duane's because of the thin, non crisp crust. The toppings are all under the cheese which I don't usually like because it is harder to soak up all the grease and these are fairly greasy with the pepperoni and sausage.

As you can kinda see, they cut the pizza in squares which I have never really understood but what ever, doesn't change the taste of the pizza. The sauce is pretty good, sort of a tangy sauce instead of a sweeter sauce like Papa Johns. The sausage was really good, again, not too far off from Duane's if I remember correctly. The pepperoni was your standard quality pepperoni. There was a LOT of cheese on it, especially for such a thin crust pizza so NO need to order extra cheese!

The price of this little pizza was $15.05 with tax. That is more than I would normally spend on a pizza this size because it is basically one meal if you are hungry (or eat a lot) or a meal and a snack for later if you're not.

So overall I was pretty happy with the taste and quality of the pizza. I ordered it online and it was ready when I got there a few minutes before they said it would be ready. I thought that it was an actual restaurant that you could sit down and eat at but all I saw was a pickup counter.

So would I get one again? At $15 for a 10" and over $23 for a 14" I won't be going there often because I am too cheap when it comes to food and especially pizza but it was good enough that it will be one of those once or twice a year pizzas like Duane's and Boss's pizza is for me. I don't know if I will be on an email list now that I ordered a pizza? If they have some specials, even early week, I might order more often but until I make more money at my job I just can't justify the price to go there more often than that.

Definitely worth a try though so give it a chance if you haven't already!

Went to Ghetto Mart in Fargo tonight to get a few things. Walked through the pizza aisle like I always do and found that they had Home Run Inn pizzas! Picked up 2 of the 3 sausage and Pepperoni pizzas that were left. Been a while since I had one. Very unique pizzas in that the crust is more like a pie crust and the cheese is already partially cooked. Really like their sauce too.

Been a while since I posted anything on here! So here is a picture of my annual Duane's 3 Meat pizza that I got tonight.

So it's been at least 3 years since I last had a Red Baron pizza. Passed them up all the time when they were on sale because I just didn't think they were that great and when I had a freezer full of Gourmet Parlor pizzas and Giovanni's 4 Meat pizzas I had no need to eat cheap pizza, Was in Hornbacher's today walking by the pizza cases to see if there was anything new and saw they had Red Barron pizzas 3 for $10. That is pretty cheap nowadays. They had 4 meat pizzas and they looked pretty good on the package so I picked up 3 of them.

Like every other cheaper pizza I had to add extra cheese to it. There was a fair amount of toppings on it. What I didn't notice until I took my first bite was the sauce. I am SURE that they changed their sauce recipe since I last had one. I always thought they were kind of bland before. They are much better now. AND they have plenty of sauce on the pizza as well.

If you have been buying Red Baron pizzas over the past 4 years or so let me know if I am right or wrong on this! Still not amazing by any means but with some extra cheese they are now worth buying for me and I will get them again.

I need to update my Boss' Pizza review. I had my first one on the first day they were officially open. It seemed to be a little over baked, there wasn't enough sauce and it was way more than I would normally spend on a carry out pizza. I learned last night that they do have a daily carryout special from 11am-9pm for a 3 item pizza for $12.99. So I ordered a Large pepperoni, sausage and Canadian bacon and a few chicken breasts. Gotta say this time around it was much better.

I ordered it with extra sauce and that made a big difference. The pizza was also perfectly baked this time. And of course for $6 less that made it even better. The chicken was really good. At least as good as any other broasted chicken I have had. A chicken breast was $3.50 which is about the going price at most places that sell chicken. So after eating half the pizza, it still doesn't rank above Marco's or Papa John's for me but it would be more like Pizza Hut with a little better sauce.

I am downtown every 5 weeks so as long as that price holds or doesn't go higher than $14 I may be picking up one of these at least every 10 weeks. I never order late night delivered pizza but for those that do, this is a good option even at the higher price because when you are drunk and hungry you don't care how much it cost! And they are open until at least 3am every night!
