TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Meet April
How long have you worked at JPs?
Next month will be my 11th year.
What’s something people are usually surprised to learn about you?
I am afraid of fish…deathly afraid of fish. I have been afraid of fish my whole life. When I was a little girl, I made my sister go in the water first & splash like crazy to scare the fish away. She was always such a champ to do so.
Coffee order?
Decaf always. I especially love a Gingerbread latte during the holiday season, complete with whipped cream.
Sweet or salty?
Both, of course. I never met a French Fry that I didn’t like and you can bet there’s always chocolate somewhere close.
Beach or mountains?
Beach. I especially love going to the beach for Happy Hour when most people have left. It’s so incredibly peaceful.
Morning person or night owl?
Definitely night owl. I get so much done at night or maybe nothing at all.
Where would you go tomorrow if someone handed you a plane ticket?
Italy has always been a dream trip. I want to experience the Italian culture, learn how to cook an authentic Italian meal in the kitchen of a local or to just view the beautiful landscape. Oh, and to drink really good wine would be a bonus.
What’s something you’ve always wanted to learn?
I would love to learn to play the violin.
What’s your perfect Sunday?
I love lazy Sundays! I love preparing and cooking a meal for Sunday dinner for the people I love. I love reading a good book on the couch snuggled with my dachshund, Tony, long walks, or kayaking on nice days.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Every day is a gift so enjoy it and live it to fullest
What JPs dish do you recommend to almost everyone?
The menu is incredible but I will say, I do call the Short Rib Ravioli “magic in a dish”.
What’s your favorite cocktail at JPs?
Right now I’m stuck on the Limoncello Spritz. It’s so refreshing.
What’s your favorite part about working here?
There is no question that the people make it what it is…the front of the house staff (hostesses, servers & bartenders), the rockstar kitchen staff and the customers. If you ever walk into JPs, you will instantly notice a level of teamwork that is seamless.
