Veterans, thank you for your service.

Veterans Day originated in 1919 after the end of WWI and was named "Armistice Day." It became a national holiday in 1938 and in 1954 the name was changed to "Veterans Day." It always occurs on November 11 and is a day set aside to honor all Veterans who have served in peacetime and war.

Built in the 1950’s, the architecture of The Frosty has elements of Googie and Mid-Century Modern styles, which celebrated the optimism of the 1950’s with the end of WWII and the start of the space and atomic age. This style originated in Los Angeles and was popular with drive-ins, diners, coffee shops, and gas stations of the time. With its slightly angled outer walls and flat roof, The Frosty has elements of an intact version of a Mid-Century Modern drive-up food stand.
Definitely a piece of classic Americana. If only it had a giant soft serve ice cream cone or hamburger on the roof, the look would be complete.🍔🍦
