It saddens me to write this post and have been putting it off for a little while now. Although my mind has been made up, the finality of making a public statement has scared me.
I took the winter off to do some soul searching and have come to the realization that it is time to walk away from the restaurant. Not too get too deep into it, but I was staring down the barrel of burnout and felt like I was drowning. Every. Day. I needed a mental break from the restaurant and thought some time away would help rejuvenate me to jump back in this spring. The more I dug deep, spent days and nights thinking of a way to prioritize my physical and mental health while balancing the myriad demands of running a restaurant, food truck, and catering business, the more I realized that I have bitten off more than I can chew. A younger me would've kept pushing until there was nothing left. This version of me has already faced some serious health issues and is in desperate need of a work/life balance, something I have not known in over ten years since starting the best food truck in Erie, PA.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support, love, laughs, and friendships that have been shared over the years.
Thank you to my amazing staff throughout the years, we've had some crazy good times! Your selflessness, patience, desire to learn helped fuel my fire for years.
The biggest thank you goes out to my family for their support and endless hours of work they put in, especially in the early years of both the food truck and the restaurant. Without you, this dream would've never gotten off the ground.
My hope is to still get the food truck out to some of our regular events & hangout spots. I also hope to continue to offer catering. I have begun a new job and will have to balance that schedule with any of the aforementioned hopes. So that piece of the puzzle is still up in the air, but don't hesitate to reach out and see if we can bring some Que to you!
