I've been holding this back for a while now but now is the time and it feels so [explicit] good to let it out...
I say this with NO regrets, PURE happiness and a HUGE weight lifted off my heart...
… This weekend will be Texarbama’s last weekend in Fairhope!
Some of you may speculate and have assumptions, so it’s best you hear the truth straight from the horse’s mouth. We have had a great run and it is time to move on to the next chapter in life.
We greatly appreciate the support that Fairhope has shown us from the first monthly community barbecues’ in my backyard when Texarbama was first starting, to showing Texarbama all the attention and appreciation, seeing smiles daily when people take their first bite of real Texas barbecue. I have been blessed with better opportunities and a way forward which most people don’t get in this industry. We have had our struggles just as everyone else has and to be debt free within three years and walk away in the black is a miracle considering the state of small businesses and restaurants now days.
In my life, in which I keep very private, I have created many successful careers for myself such as being a home builder, architect/design consultant, luthier, professional musician in a touring band, created a successful solar power energy company, various management positions, guitar technician for Hank Williams Jr, expert pit master to successful restaurateur. In the beginning of 2020 when Texas Monthly gave me the honor of mentioning my name and The Texarbama, I knew then that I had created and accomplished more in those two years than most will do in this business. My next venture takes me to Lockhart Texas, where I will be partnering in on a true Texas Beer Joint with helping get a historical Dancehall up and running. AND, a little Tex-Mex on the side to keep ‘em drinking and dancing. So, as you can see, being in good business practice, I know when it’s time to move on to greener pastures. Plus, every other word out of my mouth seems to be “Texas”, so it just feels right.
To all my family, friends, my employees past and present, I wouldn’t and couldn’t of have done this without you! These valued people have been the building blocks needed to turn my restaurant into a successful business. For me, it has brought me closer to the appreciation of people that I depend on. I have run my restaurant not as a chef, not as a restaurateur but as a business owner. I’m just tired, over worked and want to enjoy what I do and not let anyone, anything, or anywhere get in the way of what I love doing and make it feel like a burden.
In closing, come on out this weekend and show us the same support you have given us all these years and buy the rest of our delicious Texas barbecue and enjoy the sweet deals! Thank you Fairhope, sincerely, for helping me create a higher standard for not just you, but for myself and everyone In the community.
Yours truly in Barbecue,
Bradley Parmer
