Some months are remembered by where we went. Others, by who was sitting across the table.

September gave us plenty of those moments - chopsticks reaching into the same bubbling pot, conversations getting longer as dinner went on, one more round ordered because no one was quite ready to leave.

Most dinners arrive at the table already finished. Shabu doesn’t.
