Summer Solstice in Fairbanks - there just isn’t anything else like it. These are the blue-sky days and nights we dream about through the “cooler months,” and we brewed a tasty treat to commemorate this celestial celebration.
For this year’s 21:49 release, we bring you our Farmhouse Grand Cru. A big Belgian ale crafted with some of the world’s finest malt from the master maltsters at Weyermann Malting in Bamberg, Germany. A blend of Pilsner, Wheat, Vienna and Acidulated malt, lightly hopped with classic German Magnum and Northern Brewer hops, then finished with a touch of spicy Czech Saaz.
We fermented this golden beauty with our favorite French Saison yeast. This strain is voracious - consuming every available sugar, drying the beer out and making it quite drinkable. Throughout fermentation we fed the yeast pure sucrose, which not only lightened the body, but also boosted the strength of this summer sipper. At 11.9% ABV, it’s deceptively delicious.
21:49 Farmhouse Grand Cru will be pouring when we open our doors at 11am on Summer Solstice - Saturday, June 20th. On tap for glass pours in the Biergarten, and we also bottled just 250 hand numbered 750mL bottles to take home and share at your Summer Solstice celebration. These bottles are ready to drink now, but tuck one away for a rainy (or snowy) day and you’ll be glad you did.
Happy Solstice Fairbanks - PROST!!
