💛 MEET TEAL BELZ 💛

If we had to choose one word to describe AKYOGAFEST founder, Teal Belz / Teal Belz, the Finnish word “sisu” comes to mind. It represents a blend of perseverance, courage, bravery and determination to act against all odds and transform barriers into opportunities. If you know Teal, this is ✨ HER ✨

Teal is never sitting still! She’s always looking to contribute to the communities she’s a part of, and we are so grateful she’s brought the Alaska yoga community together for so many years.

Be sure to stay ALL DAY LONG to join Teal for the final main stage class at 5pm, Shakti HIIT Yoga followed by the 6pm closing of a Human Mandala!

MORE ABOUT TEAL:
Teal (Rogers) Belz was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. During college at UAF, she was introduced to aerial arts and loved it so much that she opened Golden Heart Performing Arts — an aerial and acrobatic arts studio. Her passion kept growing as she earned her 200-Hour YTT through Joga Yoga in Indonesia, plus AIR Aerial Yoga, Buti Yoga, Acrobatic Arts and CircuiT-Rx certifications. She left her 9-5 to become an Artist in Residence for the FNSB School District, working with students across the Interior. Teal is a bright light in Fairbanks and excels at bringing people together — whether it’s as intimate as a coffee date (at her other business baby: LUMI COFFEE BAR!), or as big as a yoga festival!

MORE ABOUT THE CLASS:
Shakti Yoga is a high intensity tribal-fusion yoga class inspired by the Masai Tribes of Eastern Africa, dance halls of Jamaica, and drumming circles of Nepal. The movement includes drumming, dance and yoga all done to kick-ass jams that send your chakras spinning wild while feeling the ultimate divine high (aka SHAKTI). No experience necessary!

A Human Mandala is a collaborative movement experience where participants become living pieces of a geometric design, with a drone capturing the evolving formations from above. Each person is an essential part of something much larger than themselves — a perfect way to close the magic of Alaska Yoga Festival!
