In 1999, Myoung Kim, affectionately known as Yumi, opened Yumi’s Sushi Bar in Excelsior with a simple vision: serve exceptional, high-quality sushi with genuine hospitality. For more than 20 years, she built a beloved neighborhood restaurant rooted in quality, tradition, and connection. In 2018, InnerBloom Hospitality became the owners and operators, committed to honoring Yumi’s legacy while thoughtfully growing the brand. Today, Yumi’s Japanese Restaurant + Bar welcomes guests in Excelsior, Saint Paul’s historic Cathedral Hill neighborhood, and the Southdale area of Edina, continuing the tradition of exceptional sushi, quality ingredients, and warm hospitality that began more than 25 years ago.
