Introducing the Mister Fritter Says - "You Can't Beat Our Meat" 80s t-shirt

I found a highly entertaining 2014 post called "Goodbye Mister Fritter" on wordpress blog called "something poetic" which describes Mister Fritters as "breaded grease pucks" --

"if you’re on a quest for the worst chicken sandwich this side of Sochi, I believe I may have found it for you. I don’t want to give away the exact location, but it is residing…and deteriorating…in that oasis of fine cuisine known as “Ohio.” The said speciman was inedible following a major mastication exercise, which failed to extract a core sample.

The distinction for worst chicken sandwich ever is reserved for the infamous “Mister Fritter,” a now extinct prepared pre-frozen patty that resembled a country fried hockey puck with a sledgehammer-like hint of fish.

Mister Fritter shared the shelf with Mrs Paul’s Fish Sticks. One of my colleagues grabbed the other box to bring home to cook- hence, my introduction to Mister Fritter.

While baking, the fritter emitted ..." - from something poetic

This concert almost didn't happen, and ended up being the last time all original Beach Boys played together - Dennis Wilson died a few months later. There's a fascinating history including Ronald Reagan, the wrong element, Wayne Newton, and an archive link to the recording of the concert, via The Shore County News on the Skippy Haha Blog today! - https://blog.skippyhaha.com/2025/10/beach-boys-salute-july-4-1983-atlantic.html

You guys like Monterey Bay Aquarium sea otter tees? I have one in my personal collection from 1987!

Apparently Taylor Swift wore a vintage 1993 Monterey Bay Aquarium sea otter tee in a movie last week and now the aquarium is reprinting them. Honestly mine is way cooler so if Taylor Swift wants it, I would sell it to her for $2M and donate half to sea otter conservation 🦦🤝🦦

Fairly sure this belonged to the wife of a CIA pilot in the 60s - "This Day in Aviation" website says: "Russ Scott, a former U.S. Air Force pilot, had been one of 11 pilots selected in 1961 to fly the Central Intelligence Agency’s ultrasecret Lockheed A-12 “Oxcart” Mach 3+ reconnaissance aircraft, though he left the program before the A-12 became operational."). ✈️

"Stacy Phillips, neé Melvyn Marshall. You might not know that he played with some of the leading lights of the acoustic music revival of the 1960s and 1970s. You might not guess that he wrote books on music or that he had spent decades studying the intricacies of musical genres ranging from Hawaiian to hillbilly, from klezmer to gospel, from Ukrainian to Middle Eastern. You might not know that he was considered a master of the Dobro guitar on top of playing a mean fiddle.

Stacy Phillips didn’t consider himself a big shot. He scraped together a living here, gigging with multiple New Haven-area ensembles, teaching students, and writing books for more than three decades. With an easygoing demeanor that masked an intense commitment to the highest standards, he kept old-time music alive, imbuing it with new meaning. And he inspired fellow musicians and roots-loving audiences alike.

That all came to an end in June 2018 when Phillips died in Hartford after a heart attack at 73 years old." - New Haven Independent

Round 3 of the Columbo Parody Dog Head Greeting Cards!

These are the Final 4 cards in this series.
We have 3 different cards inspired by scenes from Season 5, Episode 6, "Last Salute to the Commodore." (1976)

1) The first features a red haired Golden Retriever dog meditating on a boat wearing a space dye sweater. Next to her sits a smiling Corgi who is also trying to meditate but asks, "What are you doing?"

This would be a great card for someone you haven't seen in a while, someone into yoga and meditation, or someone making a choice that you don't understand.

2) Next is a scene featuring a Yellow Lab puppy sitting on a couch on a boat next to a Pug who is talking on an old school phone. The Pug says "Well, thank you."

This one is obviously a thank you note for anyone who loves dogs, boats, or the 70s.

3) The third Last Salute card features a smiling Yellow Lab paddling a rowboat into the sunset while he says "I'm meeting my wife at the yacht club!"
This one would be wonderful to send to someone who is retiring, or moving, or getting engaged or married, or joining a yacht club.

4) The fourth and final card is a scene from Season 6, Episode 3, "The Bye Bye Sky High IQ Murder Case." (1977)

A grumpy Yellow Lab is the waitress, a Black Lab friend wears a plaid suit, and a Yellow Lab looks at a menu and says, "I'll have a donut."

The dogs are in a cafe at the 1972 Superior Court tower at 6th Street and Commonwealth Ave on the edge of Lafayette Park downtown Los Angeles.

This one is perfect for a foodie, a donut lover, a dog lover, or a lover of LA architecture.

Round II of the Columbo Parody Dog Head Greeting Cards!

Last week we introduced the First Four Columbo Parody Dog Head Greeting Cards. Let's keep it rolling!

1) This week we start off with a scene inspired by "Double Exposure" (1973). This features a light Yellow Labrador Retriever dog wearing a yellow leather moto jacket, adjusting a surveillance camera in a supermarket.

The darker Yellow Lab next to him says he doesn't know how the hell he does it.

This would be a great card for someone who got a new job, or graduated, or achieved something remarkable.

2) Next we have 2 cards inspired by scenes in the Johnny Cash episode, "Swan Song" (1974). First -- a Cairn Terrier, in all black, parachuting. No sign of his thermos.

This would be a great card for someone who likes to skydive, or someone who is retiring or going off grid.

3) Next - also inspired by "Swan Song" (1974) - a Black Lab is walking through an airport gate and he turns to say, "Tell your wife hello for me."

This is a great card to send someone who has a wife that you like.

4) The final card this week features a scene inspired by "Forgotten Lady" (1975). A Black Lab is dangling from a tree, and tells his Basset Hound friend underneath that he's gonna drop.

This is a great card for someone who wants to let friends know they're descending into madness, or about to release some music.

Also - IF YOU WOULD LIKE A CARD with paintings with THE HUMAN HEADS, sent anywhere in the world via USPS with a forever letter stamp with NO TRACKING, I had a tiny run of those printed - please message or email me
