We specialize in traditional French pastries such as eclairs, tarts, Napoleons, madeleines and largest collection of French macarons on Chicago's North Shore, which soon will be available online too. All pastries are hand-crafted and made daily for on-premise consumption and take-out from 600 Davis St., at the former location of Cafe Mozart, in Evanston. We serve Julius Meinl coffee.

❤️ A Heartfelt “Merci”, Evanston

When we shared what happened to our storefront this past weekend, we simply wanted to express the frustration and concern we were feeling as a small business.

**We never expected the incredible response that followed.**

The hundreds of messages, comments, words of encouragement, and expressions of love and support from our community have truly touched us. After so many years of being part of Evanston, it reminded us why we chose to build our business here in the first place.

Running a small independent business is not always easy. There are good days and difficult ones. But knowing that so many people care about Patisserie Coralie, our team, and what we bring to downtown Evanston means more to us than we can possibly express.

To everyone who commented, reached out, stopped by, shared our post, or simply offered a kind word:

A Message to Our Downtown Evanston Community

Unfortunately, we arrived to find our entrance and planters vandalized again. This is not the first time our business has had to deal with this type of damage, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to simply accept it as part of doing business downtown.

We also know that other downtown Evanston businesses have recently experienced burglaries and property damage. As a small business owner, that is deeply concerning.

Small businesses already face rising costs, staffing challenges, and the everyday pressures of keeping our doors open. Having to repeatedly repair damage to our property—and worry about the security of our businesses—adds another burden that should not become normal.

We love being part of Evanston and have invested a great deal into this community. But when incidents like these continue, doing business downtown starts to feel less sustainable and increasingly like a liability.

We hope our city, community leaders, businesses, and residents can come together and take these concerns seriously. Downtown Evanston needs to be a place where businesses feel safe investing, employees feel safe coming to work, and customers feel comfortable visiting.

We remain committed to Evanston, but we also believe our business community deserves better.
