The Gardners & Eva's were among the many families who came to the Tintic Mining District during Eureka's boom years in the late 1800s and early 1900s. While they weren't among the famous mine owners like Packard, Beck, Knight, or Fitch, members of the Gardner family appear in historical records as working-class residents who helped build the community during its mining era. Eureka itself grew rapidly after the discovery of gold and silver and became the commercial center of the Tintic Mining District. Several of our Gardner and Eva family members are buried in the Eureka City Cemetery. My Great Aunt Margaret Eva Hyde, who was a long time resident married into the Hyde family. One of which is mentioned in the literature of this rendition. There's also Gardner street and Gardner Canyon on the south of side of town.

My Great Uncle Al Eva, who lives in mesquite created this rendition of the Sun Beam and it's on display here in the shop! Stop in and check it out!

Our town is safe and We're home!!
We will be open tomorrow 7am to 4pm and will resume normal business hours through the weekend.

🖤I am so grateful for our fire fighters and everything they are doing to bring us home safe! They will have another meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) to see where we stand with the back burn operations and decide if it's safe for us all to go back to Eureka. Cross your fingers and hope they let us.

This is truly hard for our fire fighters, our citizens being away from our homes and it's also a hard hit for businesses. 🖤

I know sometimes this is the last thing we think about. But I've been thinking about it since the very beginning when I was standing in my driveway and the fire was coming over the ridge at the top of church street and all I saw were the deer that usually roam the neighborhood running in fear. The turkey vultures that live in the trees of the yellow house were flying around in a panic. Sometimes they don't get away, they don't have the reasoning like we do so they just get stuck and it breaks my heart. I hate every inch of it and I can't get it out of my head. Our wild life is one of the reasons I love living in the mountains. I know being evacuated from our homes is hard. Harder for some more others, I'm sure. But if you have a minute please say a few words for our furry and feathered friends. 🖤
