We got the memo about the strike a little late today & yes, we have been open. However, we will be closing early as some of our employees wish to attend the protest & we fully support their right to do so. While we understand the point of the shutdown today we also believe another point has been overlooked. small businesses & their employees supporting this strike are the ones taking a hit today, while big corporations are still open serving their customers. January is already a financially tight month for most small businesses especially in the food service industry & our employees are relying on us for an income. For those looking to support their communities in these times, we can’t stress enough the power of voting with your dollar at small local businesses. We also can’t stress enough the power of paying in cash. Small businesses have to pay a processing fee of 2 to 3% on EVERY card transaction. When you pay in cash we get to keep 100%. That’s an investment in your community & less money in the pockets of big banks & big corporations. It also helps us keep our prices affordable which also benefits customers. In case there’s any confusion after reading this post ****We DO NOT support 🧊 & the terrible violence they bring to our communities**** As a business owner I understand how scary it can be to get political. We’re past political now. This is about ethics & morals. It’s a risk of losing customers that I’m willing to take because I could not live with myself knowing I didn’t utilize my business to speak up. We urge other businesses to speak up as well. SILENCE IS COMPLIANCE!! 💜☮️
