☘️ REMEMBERING BILL HOMAN ☘️
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of William “Bill” Homan, a Charter Member, Past President, and treasured part of the history of the Irish American Club East Side.
Bill’s legacy is woven into the very foundation of our Club. As Charter Member #10, he was among those who helped establish the IACES and served as President from 1980–1982. Bill also played an instrumental role in helping the Club secure its permanent home — the same place our members have gathered, celebrated, and kept our Irish heritage alive for 48 years.
Throughout the years, Bill continued to serve the IACES in numerous board positions, chaired countless committees and events, and remained a dedicated supporter of the Padraic Pearse Center and Cleveland’s greater Irish community.
His commitment to his Irish heritage reached far beyond our Club. Bill was honored as Lake County Irishman of the Year in 1988, IACES Member of the Year in 1999, and served as Grand Marshal of Cleveland’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 2019.
But titles and honors tell only part of Bill’s story. His true legacy can be found in the community he helped create, the friendships formed within these walls, and the generations of members who continue to enjoy the Club he worked so hard to build.
Our hearts are especially with Bill’s wife, Pat; his children, Heather, John and Erin; his daughter-in-law, Marcella; and his grandchildren, Isabella, Louisa and Declan, along with his extended family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Bill.
