Antonio's Real New York Pizza

Antonio's Real New York Pizza It all started in 1892 with the birth of my Great Grandfather Francesco Scerbo. You want pizza in NY? For 30 years, we've enjoyed Tommy's food. It didn't exist.

Washington Post Named us the #1 NY Pizzeria in Colorado. 3 locations: 1560 Big Thompson Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517 & 325 Main Street., Longmont, CO 80501. 116 Peridot Ave, Loveland CO 80537, Loveland is a drive-thru! At age 15, he was put on a boat which arrived at Ellis Island some 6 months later causing his pants to be too short.. By the 1920's, he had moved to the Bronx then eventually settled i

n Bay Ridge, Brooklyn buying a brownstone that my great Aunt resides in to this day- in her 90's! Growing up in New York with access to the authentic Italian food of Brooklyn and Long Island, I did not realize how lucky we were to have access to so much great food until moving to Colorado. There are 7 good to excellent pizzerias within a square mile. Long story short, while growing up, every Friday night was pizza night and that pizza came from Mama's in Copiague, NY. In 2009, I started making pizza out of necessity. We had driven from Wyoming to near Pueblo in search of something that reminded us of home. My first few tries were not great but I was making at home and my family were the testers. What happened next was the purchase of a pizza stone and many iterations of dough and sauce as I searched for the holy grail. Remember, pizza is very personal. What I like, someone from Kansas may not. After hundreds of attempts, I had honed in on what satisfied my mind's taste so I shared it with others. When a neighbor - also from NY - screamed from her front door "I LOVE YOU", I knew that it was close. This is a normally very quiet person who says very little....

Onward and upward! With a huge audience at Summitview Coffee on the other side of town, we began with a modest (small) oven. When I say we, I mean Anthony Francher and I. Having two Anthonys in the same place- both from NY - was a blessing. We cranked out many a pizza bagel, then Sicilian pizzas while introducing locals and people from all over the world to NY sauce(remember, this was a coffee shop, not a pizzeria). The sauce is key to the pizza's authenticity. You can buy dough and ready made cheese. Sauce out of a can tastes like sauce out of a can. Childhood friend and mentor Chef Chris Gonzalez taught me the basics of proper sauce, then said "fly". 10 years later, it has taken on a life of its own. Our house specialty is the Godfather. An Italian culinary delight featuring prosciutto di parma, capicola, genoa salami, provolone, fresh garlic, pepperoncini and roasted red peppers! It can he had as an 18" round or Sicilian. Backing up the Godfather is our Sicilian Pie. It's a rectangular pizza with thicker dough and sauce that has a kick. We also have a 26" Mega-Don pie and if that's not enough, an 11-lb behemoth called the Hell's Kitchen! In 2019 we added a 36” pizza called the “Tony 3 Feet”. On the deli side, we have prosciutto di parma, capicola, Genoa salami, pepperoni, black forest ham and bacon. Supporting cheeses include provolone and fresh hand-made, homemade mozzarella.

LOVELAND: This morning I went out for an omelette that came with toast, some hash browns and coffee. It was delicious and $26 before tip so $31 per person(just me). Do you all realize that great food is available for reasonable prices at this little purple hut? Let's say you're really short on cash. You get a pizza bagel and a can of coke for like $9. That sure beats $26 and you are definitely just as full. Two slices of cheese pizza is actually half of what the chains call a "large pizza" but it's our small. So $8 gets you half a 14" pizza. I never sell things on price but feel there is no better value especially when you consider it's not preservative laden s**t! We make the bagels by hand, we make the pizza by hand from fresh ingredients and the burritos are made by hand right in our Estes Park location, with all fresh ingredients! Everyone talks about supporting local, well here is your opportunity to put those words into action while eating good food at a reasonable price. Everytime I go to McDonalds it says I'm number 1300-something in the drive thru that day. People clearly care more about fast than good, but we have both!!!

Where is this oasis? 116 Peridot Ave. Loveland CO. What time? From 9am-8pm Tuesday-Saturday.

It takes so many mistakes to gain the knowledge necessary to succeed. The number of days I wake up to chaos in a year is rather scary. Who broke the handle off a very necessary slicer, who left the door to the walk in open blowing all the dough we have and on and on. The resilience necessary to get up every day knowing you will be met with problem after problem is worth its weight in gold.

Last night, we got hit so hard with orders during the 5-6 hour, we had to shut off the ordering for an hour just to catch up. No one could have predicted we would receive that many orders in an hour. The dining room waitlist grew long as we struggled to catch up with 4 pizzamakers, two people stretching dough and making Sicilians and Detroits as fast as we used them. It was insane. People were largely kind and patience but one guy was upset that it took an hour to get his food. That was the actual wait time and it wasn't personal, it was simply too many orders. Had I not shut the ordering off, we would have drowned. Everyone says "it's a great problem to have". No, it's not. Reasonable is a great place to be. There's nothing reasonable about looking up to see 3-5 large pizzas in each order. Please be patient with us as we struggle to feed all of you. Thank you!

Something huge is coming on September 5th: the first Colorado Pizza Festival! Where? Longmont, CO. The link below will take you to the website so you can learn about what we've put together. First, my hat's off to the team at Urban Field Pizza for spearheading the logistics. Their team is remarkable. Who will be at this festival? About 25-30 of the top pizzerias in Colorado, including your favorites from Main Street: Rosalee's Pizza, Urban Field, Antonio's, Abo's and my friend and mentor, the one & only Tony Gemignani of Slice House by Tony Gemignani that you see in Boulder, Loveland and soon in Longmont. He also started a little group called the World Pizza Champions and inducted yours truly. To have his team with us will be outrageous.

To say this festival is going to be EPIC is definitely an understatement. Pizzerias from all over the state will be making pizza on the street in Longmont in full size restaurant ovens! You purchase a ticket and get slices based on the level of the ticket. Festival proceeds benefit Slice Out Hunger, Longmont Food Rescue, Community Food Share, and Colorado Friendship, working to end food insecurity on the Front Range. This is what really matters to me.

Eat Pizza. Do Good. The inaugural Colorado Pizza Festival hits Longmont, CO on Sept 5, 2026. Live music, local pizzerias, family activities. Festival proceeds benefit hunger-relief nonprofits.
